They will have an effect but nothing really of any measure. They’re for absorbing high frequency reflections, flutter echo and reverb from hard walls. This is sound treatment not deadening. The wall needs to have more mass added to absorb enough energy to stop sound going through. So another false wall with neoprene rubber cushioned frame filled with rock wool to at least 3 inches with plaster board n top is how I’ve done my practice studio. I only go into so much detail to show how much effort ‘sound proofing’ needs. **Q: Can they be used for small 4” speakers?** A: Depends on the width, should not be an issue. **Q: flame retardant?** A: No. **Q: Are they paintable** A: Short answer, no. They are just sponge material. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value acoustic room treatment! *by S***A on 2 December 2020* I soaked them and rinsed them out before tumble drying on the lowest heat setting (according to the instructions). They came out perfectly fine and with a cheap spray adhesive were a breeze to install on the wall. I bought two packs which gave quite a nice bit of coverage and now the acoustic feel of the room is way damper, improving the situation for home recording/mixing in my little studio room. Great value product overall :) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Get some decent glue *by M***. on 8 September 2024* Easy enough to unpack and decompress to full size and probably will absorb sound. But… getting them to stick to the wall is a right challenge. Tried double sided sticky tape. Nope. Tried two inch across double sided tape. Nope. Now trying PVA painted on the wall plus sticky tape. If that doesn’t work then I’m going to have to use Velcro glue stuff that’ll wreck the wallpaper when it eventually needs removed. Other than that, great product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good, great quality *by B***N on 29 October 2024* I was looking for a good while for some acoustic panels and decided to finally get these. They came in very tightly packaged but after following the instructions to let them sit over night most of them were back to proper shaped. Same of them were still flat so I tried the second option which was to spray some water and use the hair drier which did the trick.
