Bellemain French Press Coffee Maker Extra Filters Included, 35 oz, Stainless Steel

I am immensely impressed at the quality and performance of this French press. I needed a coffee maker that I could use to make several cups in the morning, where I could get a cup immediately and have another available in 10-20 minutes for my wife. I've used an Aeropress for years, and considered the Aeropress XL, but it's ridiculously priced for a few pieces of plastic and it's really designed for 2 cups brewed and consumed at the same time. When you open the box and pull this press out, you're immediately impressed by the weight and build quality. This isn't a thin glass vessel in a plastic carrier. The stainless steel, double walled construction has some heft. They even included an extra mesh filter, a nice touch. I was disappointed by Amazon's shipping. They sent it only in the manufacturer's box, which wasn't meant for shipping and the filter carrier was damaged by some impact. A few minutes with some hand tools and the anvil put it mostly back to true. It's not perfect, but it's not the manufacturer's fault. To see how this would perform, I ran an experiment: Started with coffee ground medium with a Cuisinart bur grinder. I used an additional paper filter, a few bucks for 100 on Amazon. Water boiled to 200 degrees fahrenheit French press at room temp, 60 degrees fahrenheit 2 scoops coffee, 4 cups water Ceramic mug at room temperature, 71 degrees fahrenheit Brewed for 3 minutes, used slow press for extraction. Coffee at 160 degrees fahrenheit in cup. No grounds Outside of french press slightly warm to the touch Then I gave it 10 minutes, undisturbed to see what my wife's cup was going to be like. 2nd ceramic mug at room temp, 71 degrees fahrenheit The coffee was 153 degrees in cup, still no grounds. By comparison, the first mug of coffee is at 120 degrees fahrenheit The double walled construction did a great job of retaining heat. I will need to use 5 cups of water next time. It was also very easy to clean. I would recommend this press to anyone looking to make a consistently tasty cup of coffee for more than one. It's durable construction and easy to clean stainless steel is a huge plus. I give it 5 stars! (I give Amazon's shipping 2 stars. Get it together Amazon!)

This French Press is AWESOME! If you are trying to decide which one to buy, look no further. I broke the glass carafe on my old one by bumping it on the counter and replaced it with this one. It just seems better in every way. It was very inexpensive, it comes with an extra filter and it is incredibly easy to clean. It is also insulated, so it keeps the coffee warm, although not exactly HOT. It can't break. It looks sleek and modern. The coffee tastes great and it doesn't drip or make a mess when you pour yourself a cup. It also seems like the maker stands by their product and is proud of it. I doubt I will ever need customer service, so I can't attest to that, but the manufacture's warranty seems especially generous. Also.... the press from the broken glass carafe fits in this product as well. And if I bang it hard enough on the counter.... the worst that could happen is probably a ding.

Makes an excellent French press coffee and keeps it warm for quite a bit. Easy to use, great build quality. My only knock on it is it becomes hard to read the labels inside with certain lighting conditions, but it’s not at all a dealbreaker. Great purchase, has held up well for months and I would buy it again.

The pot is hard to clean. I do not want to dump all these coffee grounds down the drain and they are hard to get out of the bottom of the pot. You also must get coarse ground coffee. This means, in my experience, you use more to get the same strength. I'm not liking that aspect since the coffee is expensive. But that is a french press and not a specific attribute unique to this one. Overall it's nice. We didn't spend a lot of money to buy it and it looks great. As french presses go I guess it's good since I've never had one before. (PS: I have gone back to my Mr. Coffee and just make awesome coffee with it. It will run forever and if it ever dies I will buy another.) But french presses are nice. : ) My adult kids love them. Perhaps they will take this one with them?

Después de meses de probar la prensa funciona perfecto: buenos filtros, conserva muy bien el calor por largo tiempo, buen diseño, robusta y alcanza para dos tazas y lo mejor: permite lograr un excelente sabor.

Nach ein paar tagen wird das Sieb bereits instabil und lässt den Kaffesatz durch. Damit völlig unbrauchbar ausser man trinkt seinen Kaffee gerne Türkisch. Für mich bedeutet das weitersuchen nach einer Kanne die es schafft dieses Problem zu lösen. Das Geld ist hier verschwendet, da gibt es günstigere Angebot mit dem gleichen service.

I have had this plunger for 6 months or so. We use it to infuse black and green tea. The filter blocks any tea leaves from flowing out (as expected). It also does a decent job keeping the pot warm due to the double lining. When it is full of hot water, you can still touch the outer housing. You can also place the pot without a mat to protect the timbre table. Sometimes, I left the tea and leaves in the pot overnight, yet the inside does not appear to have been discoloured. It is little fiddlely to disassemble the plunger by unscrewing to clean, but overall, it has been a good product. I'm sure it will work equally well with coffee. I recommend this product.
