Works great, and very accurate. I bought mine in order to find an on-demand tankless water heater that was installed behind sheetrock by a moron builder many years ago. Lit up like a Christmas tree when I moved the sensor over the location.

I've owned a bunch of stud finders over the years and honestly, most of them were junk. They'd sort of work sometimes, but it was always a guessing game. It's fast, accurate, and just works. I'm not a contractor or anything, just a regular DIY home guy, but this thing feels like pro-level gear. Worth every penny.

Simply put: There are no other stud sensors out there. This one is it. This is the one. It doesn't miss. I haven't tried detecting wires, and there were no pipes or other conduit I needed to find, but if you want to know where your studs are, this is THE sensor. Buy it.

I have not used it a lot of times, but so far it works better than the expensive German co. One I have.

As a home owner who tackles quite a few DIY projects, I have purchased several stud finders over the years, including a nice Zircon and this Franklin Sensors version. I absolutely LOVE this stud finder. It's fast and accurate. I can instantly visualize the studs hiding behind the wall in mere seconds. It DOES live up to the hype for this function. I haven't touched any of my other stud finders since I bought this unit. I owned and used this stud finder for approximately two years when the dreaded happened - I dropped it. It fell about 3 feet onto carpet. I was aware of the reviews of people who claimed this unit is very susceptible to damage from a drop. And yes, it instantly stopped working. I nearly ordered a new one, but decided to attempt a repair. I took it apart and found there are no loose or mobile parts inside (not a surprise), so I wasn't sure what could have been broken by such a short and relatively soft fall. So I broke out the multimeter, and found that I wasn't getting a full 3 volts out of the battery terminals, which looks absolutely fine visually. A quick little bend on the battery tabs to grab the batteries a little tighter instantly resolved that issue, and my sensor is back in action. Perhaps this will help other people who might suffer the same, because this is truly an awesome tool.

Best stud finder I've ever owned. And I'm an old guy, in my 70s, who has owned quite a few, considering I worked in remodeling, construction of homes, along with doing work in our own home for decades. Yes, it costs more than many of them do, but it could not be easier to use or more accurate. Easy operation. Easy to hold and read. Very fast at finding things behind walls. Excellent light sensors. Great build quality --- and, yes, its main body is plastic, but so is almost 90% of every car and truck interior these days, and a lot of clothing people wear. It's quality plastic.

This is the best studd finder, I've ever used. First when I received I was quite skeptical. I would mark the spot on the wall and test it with a nail. I was accurate 100%. I highly recommend this one it makes my work very easy.

Meilleur achat à faire à un jeune qui part en appartement! Je me le suis acheté pour ma maison et mon seul regret c’est de ne pas l’avoir eu avant! Dispendieu beaucoup par rapport à certains plus cheap mais la règle le niveau et surtout la possibilité de voir la largeur du « stud » en arrière sont des points qui lui font mériter son prix. Je vais certainement en acheter pour la famille à noël. Positif : -fonctionne avec des batteries à piles (à prévoir) -bonne prise en main (agréable et pas étrange) -plastique de qualité -léger pour être maniable mais juste assez lourd pour ne pas faire cheap (on entends pas de cliquetis de morceaux lousse en dedans comme les cheap peuvent le faire) -fiable! Si la lumière s’allume, tu peux planter ta vis ici! -en bleu il est moins cher et le même modèle ;) Négatif: -fonctionne avec des batteries donc n’est pas rechargeable seul -dispendieu à l’achat

The most important piece of information is: it actually works. After struggling with some cheap product for a while I decided to take a hit, write-off the cheap one (couldn't return anymore), and decided to but this one. I'm happy. Detects studs like there is no tomorrow ;-)
