National Geographic Road Atlas 2026: Scenic Drives Edition [United States, Canada, Mexico]

Look the atlas but wish the print was a bit larger. Also a few large cities were mapped out one being Columbia SC which we needed.

You hold this Nat Geo atlas and you aren't just looking at paper; you’re looking at the golden road stretching out to the West, through the salt flats and the neon ghosts of Denver, past the lonely filling stations where the wind howls about the absolute "it" of the universe. It’s got every jagged peak and hidden creek laid out in a madness of detail that makes your heart pound against your ribs, reminding you that the only truth is the movement, the speed, and the grand, shimmering "everywhere" that’s waiting for you just past the next bend in the road. It’s the Bible for the road-burned soul, the hobo, and the seeker, a heavy-bound promise that as long as there’s a mile left to drive, we’re all gonna be okay under that big, sprawling sky. - Sal Paradise

Absolutely LOVE the fact that the maps show "Gulf of Mexico," like they should. I thought it may be an older version because of it, but nope, 2025. Smaller than they used to be too.

I grew up using folding maps and atlas's for travel, then eagerly migrated to GPS maps and digital devices. Routing with GPS cannot be beat for convenience and speed in setup. Yet on my long trips I often found myself wishing I had a large paper map to lay out and view. Looking for alternative routes and areas of interest becomes onerous on a small cell phone screen. While traveling the cell maps show just a tiny section of the route and you have to manually manipulate to see the larger picture, and even then the screen is so small that seeing details is impossible. I turned then to this Atlas to keep in my vehicles while making long trips. One of the inviting features of this particular Atlas that was appealing is the Scenic Drives section with maps by State and featured drives offering suggestions and greater detail for trips. This is very nice indeed and I've found it useful in coming up with ideas for pleasure trips, and even to enhance business travel. The cost is very low when compared to useful printed manuals and reference materials making this not only a no-brainer but really a "must have" purchase. I pulled a star only because the page size is really too small for the maps presented. It would be much more useful to print individual maps across two pages of this size to present the best detail. While the desired information is usually present, it is so small that you need reading glasses or a magnifying lens to see easily. Otherwise, this fulfills the mission, and the size does make it easier to store and carry. Overall, I'm very happy with the Atlas, and particularly at this price point.

I am impressed. Easy general use for all states plus Mexico and Canada. Much, much larger than any cell phone or iPad map. Should travel well as it is compact or endure for years in your home library. The front and back covers are nicely printed on really good coated quality paper. Great for conversations about past or future traveled; "Do you remember when"? Get a distance prospective of where out-of-town friends and family live. This is a really nice gift you could give anyone, at any age, for any holidays or a birthday.

The print was so small I couldn’t read it and I had to send it back. Should’ve looked at the description better and bought the bigger size print.

Easy to read

My husband really likes his atlas. It was somewhat smaller than he expected, but he still like to look at it as he plans trips. GPS is just not the same satisfying experience.

It’s ok, a handy size I suppose but a far cry from the full size Nat Geo road atlas which contained all this info and printed on better quality paper - for some reason this isn’t available any more.

This was really handy in our recent road trip for planning where we wanted to go. Sometimes it’s nice to have a paper map.

La verdad que no esperaba tanto de este producto. Cro que solo cambiaria las dos grapas por un sistema de engargolado con alambre que lo hciera mas manejable y más práctico pero en general excelente la información que contiene.
