ViewSonic VG1655 15.6 Inch 1080p Portable Monitor with 2 Way Powered 60W USB C, IPS, Eye Care, Dual Speakers, Built-in Stand with Magnetic Cover

The construction and included cover are great. This is probably not for gaming but for my use it's perfect. I'm using this as a small TV for my dining room table. Plugged in a Chromecast using an HDMI adapter. Picture is clear and sharp and brightness is good for my well lit room with abundant sunlight from windows. Not the best contrast but it's fine for watching TV. I recommend this for anyone using as a second monitor for productivity or just watching videos. It included an HDMI cable to go from the mini to full size, you'll need an adapter to plug a Chromecast or other device with a built in HDMI. Also came with a really short USB-C power cord, I used my own and it works fine.

Purchased this monitor for my wife. She works in finance and when at off-site meetings with other associates, needs more screen area than a 16" laptop provides. This helps her immensely. Cabling up this monitor is also nice due to the multiple options available. She is also able to power the monitor through her laptop, so she need not worry about also packing the power adapter. Quality of the image is also very good. Color hue is a bit different from her laptop, but this can be expected, and is not a problem. Sharpness and resolution is also very good. I have used other Viewsonic monitors in the past. Their quality and reliability have always been very good.

The monitor has it's own case, and is easy to move from the laptop bag to the table. It's great to have the battery and you can charge the monitor using your laptop which is a plus. I would say that I was a little disappointed with the lag between your laptop communicating with the portable monitor, but this only happens if you aren't plugged in using the type c connector. It does come with it's own power brick, but I didn't see a reason for it for my case use, which I just use it at work when I need to move to another workstation. It's a good construction, easy to use for the for the cost, it works as advertised.

The VG1656N Portable Monitor is a beautiful product that allows you to connect wirelessly or via a USB-C cable. Both options require that your laptop or other source device have a free USB-C port. In the case of a wireless connection, the wireless dongle must be plugged into the USB-C port on your source device. In the case of a cable connection, the USB-C cable must be plugged into the USB-C port on your source device as well. I could not use a USB-C Hub. Since I only have 1 USB-C port on my laptop, and I have a couple of USB-C devices, I had to return the monitor because it would not work when connected to the hub. I used a Belkin Connect USB-C to 4-Port USB-C Hub. IF you have a free USB-C port on your device that can be dedicated to the monitor, then I would highly recommend this monitor. If anyone knows of a USB-C Hub that will support this product, please post a response to the review. I would buy the new hub and repurchase this monitor.

Working from home, and wanting to be able to work in more than one place at home, has caused me to contend with some unique challenges. It's hard to get a lot of what I need to do done with just one screen, but unless I'm at my desk it's a bit tricky to have multiple displays. So I finally decided it was time to get one of these displays and there were a few reasons I was drawn to the ViewSonic. One, I'm a fan of their products. ViewSonic has been around ages and I've used their monitors off and on throughout the years, so I expected something with fairly good build and image quality. On these points, the display did not disappoint. The kickstand is thoughtful, allowing the monitor to be used horizontally or vertically. The overall build of the monitor feels solid, and the slim bezels are nice. Fortunately, as is standard for these, the thicker bezel is at the bottom which puts the display at a similar height to my laptop's screen. Additionally, one of the things that I preferred about this about a number of competing products is the subdued brand labeling on the front. Bright, shiny, or chrome logos are just obnoxious in my opinion (coincidentally, the ViewSonic monitors I have at my WFH station have a dark matte gray logo on a black bezel *chefs kiss*). The controls are straightforward and the interface is not too dissimilar from my other ViewSonic displays. Along with the sturdy cover, this is easy to pack and protect. I wouldn't subject it to any abuse as it is still just a fairly exposed screen, even with the cover on it. The cover seems to have traded a softer or friendlier feel for being sturdier, however it does also serve nicely as a mat to place under the monitor when in use to keep it in place and prevent the housing from scuffing up whatever table you're using it on. The scuff or scratch risk is worth calling out here. The metal kickstand feels like it'd pretty easily gouge a table or other surface, so using the cover as a base is recommended if you want to ensure that doesn't happen. You are paying a premium for the ViewSonic brand, but you also get a 3 year warranty and hopefully the reliability I'd usually expect from ViewSonic. The display includes everything you need: a collection of USB cables, microfiber cloth, and a power adapter that conveniently allows it to provide up to 60W of power to whatever device you connect to it. Picture quality is perfectly fine for the application. It matches a decent IPS laptop screen but can't keep up with the best in terms of color and doesn't offer 4K (which I've grown to find unnecessary on displays this size anyway). I wouldn't have expected anything more from it given the price, so there's no disappointment there.

Blurry quality at 1920x1200. Not even sure how that's possible on a modern 16:10 display, but the pixels are just awful. Maybe it's all the weird filters in the screen. OK for a tertiary screen, but I'd never use it a primary/secondary.

This monitor pairs VERY nicely with small/compact laptops. It can connect via USB-C or HDMI and comes with its own power brick. I use this with my last-gen 11" MacBook Air when I have down-time and I want to watch YouTube/Netflix. The image quality and brightness is far better than what I was expecting. My personal loadout: this monitor and its cables, one compact surge protector (to which I connect this monitor's power supply and my laptop's charger) my laptop, and its charger. This monitor, it's cables, and my compact surge protector fit very comfortably into my laptop bag. If you travel with a compact laptop, this monitor should be at the top of your list of accessories.

Connects very simply via USB-C direct to my laptop - this one connection provides power and the display signal. Very light and portable, great way to add a second screen while you are travelling or working remotely.

Ich suchte eine Monitor, der zum einen tragbar ist und klein. Meine Entscheidungskriterien: - mindestens 15,6 Zoll damit man auch was sieht, wenn man sein Display doppelt bzw. erweitert - kein Akku aber per Powerbank betreibbar, weil ein interner Akku im Betrieb unter Umständen dauergeladen wird - 2 x USB-C, 2 x USB-C, weil 1 x Laden und 1 x Daten - 1 x HDMI Minimum, um auch mit anderen Geräte oder Adaptern kompatibel zu sein - eigner integrierte Aufsteller, weil stabiler und die Aufsteller aus Schutzhüllen nicht so meins sind - Mac und Windows kompatibel - interne Lautsprecher (hat nicht jeder Monitor) - Touch-Display habe ich nicht unbedingt benötigt Was mache ich damit: - zweiter Monitor fürs Notebook als doppelte Anzeige oder zum Erweitern der Anzeige - als Monitor fürs Smartphone über USB-C - als Monitor für Amazon Fire TV Cube (Lautstärke nicht über Fernbedienung des Cube steuerbar, sondern am Monitor) Da ich bereits schon einmal einen normalen Monitor dieses Herstellers hatte, griff ich zu und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Der Monitor erfüllt alle meine Anforderungen und ist auch schmal genug um in die Notebooktasche zu passen. Der Einschalter ist auf der Rückseite und dient gleichzeitig zur Bedienung des OSD-Menüs. Über dieses Menü können verschiedene Einstellung des Monitors vorgenommen werden. Der Anschluss erfolgt über die beiliegenden Kabel (USB-C zu USB-C, USB-C zu USB-A, Mini-HDMI auf HDMI). Wer ggf. Displayport benötigt, kann dies über einen Display-Port-HDMI-Adapter (nicht im Lieferumfang) realisieren Die Verbindung hat unter Windows 10 sofort funktioniert. Für mich ist es ein angenehmes Arbeiten mit einem Zweitmonitor. So kann ich einfach Daten in Tabellen aufnehmen, indem auf meinem Notebook die Tabelle geöffnet ist und auf dem externen Monitor die Emails mit den Daten. Einziger Kritikpunkt wäre für mich das kurze USB-C-Kabel, bei dem der Hersteller nicht bedacht hat, dass man ggf. die Stromversorgung über das Netzteil benötigt. Das fürht für mich aber nicht zur Abwertung. Ich habe das Kabel einfach gegen ein längeres ersetzt.
