Nice accessory good for costumes or stage craft, but not up close and personal
No bad smell, but isn't likely to be mistaken for authentic full grain leather. Fits me just fine. My AC has adjusted +2, but no assailants to test that assertion. I suppose you could wear these backwards to make a handy cover guard for the back of your hand, so long as yours aren't too big. I sometimes forgot I was wearing them once I got used to them. This could actually be useful for protecting your arms if you're gardening with thorns, but won't protect your fingers.

Comfortable
When these first come they are flat. It is important to lace and tie them as if around an arm to give it some flexibility prior to wearing. They held their shape once on the arm and were very sturdy but comfortable. They added the medieval for the look I was going for.

Good quality
These are pretty good quality leather and stitching. However, they were a bit smaller than expected and woul not reach all the way around my arm. (I am a bit larger than normal) Other than that, they worked great for my cosplay.

Wow Better than Expected
Oh. My. Gosh. These gauntlets are like actual gauntlets! They look and feel like real leather, and they're very well made! I have to have someone else lace them up for me whenever I put them on because they're so sturdy (made of pleather possibly? A very thick material like leather) and strong I can't pull it tight enough myself. On that note, don't actually fight with these if you want to keep them looking clean and pretty. They're very sturdy, yes, but they're not invincible. They will get scratched and peel. Additionally, do wear something underneath them or lower their position on your arms because the part that rests on your wrist will irritate your skin and become painful if not.

A lot better than I thought!
I wore these.for a weekend at renfest, and I'll be using them against next year. They're honestly a lot nicer than I thought they'd be, and they really do look pretty good. Can be tough to get on, but seem to fit well, and hold their shape once you get used to them. WARNING: THEY DO BLEED COLOR, these.will stain your cotton shirt/tunic/what have you, so please be aware that they can stain. Otherwise, I really like them!

Missing a tie... What are they made of?
These seem fine for a costume use. Might not survive heavy abuse. The "belts" are just riveted on. It was my understanding that these were NOT leather, and they do smell of leather. That's a negative on my side, since I would have not ordered them if I had known they were not vegan. Maybe I misread the info? Unfortunately, one of these will be tied with a grey shoestring I found bc on of the ties is missing. Amazon wanted to go thru the rigamarole of returning for a replacement for the missing string, which seems silly when they could just offer a link to contact the seller on the page where you can say you have an issue with a product.

Decent quality, could have better features
Better quality than most of what passes for faux leather costume accessories. Would not expect these to fall apart. Feel pretty close to the real thing, a bit like suede. The issue comes more from the fact that the buckles are for show only. You really need a second person to don these pieces unless you've learned how to tie knots one handed. They also need another piece to stop them from sliding down your wrists, and you'll get dents in your forearms if you don't want them to slide around. Not too big of an issue considering they're not expensive, but I'd like to pay a few bucks more to get working straps.
