Strong, light weight with many pockets that can carry a 12 week Irish setter puppy
As long as your back is upto lugging a puppy about the bag will be upto the challenge. We ordered this for our new 12 week old Irish setter pup. As you all know can't go walking a puppy far as there joints aren't upto it. However we didn't want this to stop us.Could put Chase in the bag and walk for miles. We tried other style bags and either found them too expensive or over complicated. I found it easier to wear on your chest then back and allowed me to keep an eye on the puppy. The bag is easy to clean and cleans up well, I know he threw up in it π. Only down side is that the one elastic broke on the side pocket. We weren't bothered as the pocket still worked as it should do.

Help needed
This bag is alone really good for its intended purpose, however I found it stressful to put my dog in and almost impossible to pick it up while on my own.. so being on my own I had to return it as its unmanageable..

Absolutely brilliant.
My dog has recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, I take this everywhere with me. When she has had enough I put her in the rucksack. She loves it, can look around and enjoy being out and about with me. Easy to get her in it and not heavy or uncomfortable for me or the dog. Absolute godsend π

Great backpack for cycling!
I had tried at least 5 other backpacks, some of them more expensive than this. This one is great for my 7Kg cockapoo!!He loves watching the road and get some fresh air while I take him on a bike ride - the safety hook is essential as he moves a lot and so are the holes for his paws, although sometimes he does free himself out of them.

Tough and reasonably well designed. Dog's tummy goes against your back. Paws over the top.
We have a mid to large size Yorkshire Terrier with short legs 12 years old and she likes this carrier when she gets tired on a long walk. It is good but could be better. We got the medium size which is just right, enabling a bit of walking kit like pack-a-mack, spare water bottle etc to be put in the bottom before adding a small cushion (not included), we used one which had come with a previous cheaper type of carrier. The straps seem substantial and well positioned. The dog's back goes against the zip at the back, also supported by 2 straps, at mid point and top with quick push-fit, easy-release plastic fasteners, very good. The open rim does not have any padding so not as comfortable for the dog around its neck (which pokes out the top, or it's front paws which rest on the quite abrupt rim, at the front by your shoulders) so it is fine for short periods but I could imagine it would be more comfortable for the dog if more padded around the opening. She alternates as I walk, sometimes looking over my left shoulder, then shifts her weight a little and looks over my right shoulder, she seems to enjoy that freedom of visibility and I can just about reach to feed her treats. Unfortunately there is no closing flap for times when the dog is not using it, but walking instead, so rain could get in making the other contents in the bottom wet. Would I buy it again? I think so. Would I buy it if it had a closing flap for while the dog is walking, and if it had padding around the top edge? Definitely.

Not sturdy enough for a 22 kg dog.
As you can see, it was perfectly comfortable for me and the dog; it was even easy to get him into it, once he learned to relax his back legs. Unfortunately, two days after the 30-day return period, the stitching at the bottom of one of the shoulder straps snapped. Fortunately, I was able to keep hold by the remaining strap and safely lower him to the ground. My dog weighs 22 kg, so itβs probably fine for lighter dogs.
