Would I be able to see my live recording while using Audacity?** A: No, these units are analogue mixers, to record into the PC you'll need to send the outputs into a seperate audio interface (usb/FireWire/or even into your built in soundcard mic input). I think there is a UX (?) model of these mixers that do have built in interfaces but they're obviously a bit dearer and will only send the stereo output of all mixer inputs into the PC but that might suit your needs! **Q: Is this a suitable mixer for a small, computer based recording studio?** A: I bought this for my 14 year old sons small studio for live recording. It will unnecessarily distort, if you insert in 1-4, and use those knobs. (Gongs, singing bowls, chimes etc.) I find the effect function very useful to create lovely reverb effects during recording. The only issue with it is that if you wanna use it as a USB mixer to send the signal to your computer you might have issues. The output signal on the USB port isn’t loud enough. I have read many forums about that and it’s a common problem with these mixers. I had to add an additional audio interface to it to get a strong enough signal on the computer.
