I live in one of the northernmost states, and the winters are DARK, yuck. I have been told by multiple medical professionals to get a light to see if it would help my winter blues! I finally did, and I am so thankful I did. Please try this; it might change your life. When I use this for 15-30 minutes a day, the pressure that holds me down and prevents me from functioning disappears. Depression just stops. For me, it worked in 2 days, yeah, 2. I must have needed it, lol. The light is sturdy and plenty bright. No flickering. It's about the size of a tablet or iPad.

I suffer SADS in the winter. This little light packs a punch and it works like a charm. I use it when I hand embroider. Lights up my fabric, too. It has lots of features including a timer. And most importantly, it works like a charm. No SADS since I began using it. Highly recommended.

I've had this for two days and LOVE it! I work in a room with no windows to the outside, and that makes it very difficult when I drive TO work in the dark, and drive FROM work in the dark. This light is very bright, and I love the stand. It's very slim and compact, much like the early Kindles, so you can place it and store it almost anywhere. The timer is a great idea; you can set it for 15 minutes at a time, up to one hour. You can also adjust the brightness. You do need to be looking at it (indirectly) while you're using it, so place it somewhere that you can see it while you're reading, doing paperwork, crocheting, putting together your model airplanes, etc.

EDIT 2: Received replacement light today (Nov 26th 2025), the day after contacting customer support! Five stars for customer and warranty support. Still dropping one star for first light dying within two months. EDIT 1: Changed from 1 to 4 stars. After contacting customer support earlier today (Nov 25th 2025) and describing the problem, customer support responded within a couple of hours. After confirming the light was covered under their warranty, they are shipping a replacement unit immediately. Any given product product can fail for any number of reasons. Prompt customer support like this is rare, and deserves the additional 3 stars by itself. We'll have to see how well the replacement unit fares. === Received the Verilux HappyLight Lumi Plus on October 1, 2025, and was impressed with the apparent quality of construction, the simplicity of use, and the performance—VERY bright on high. Sadly, the unit refused to turn on after working perfectly every morning until yesterday, November 24th , 2025. I have since unplugged and re-plugged it in with no success. I had the light plugged into the same APC UPS as my computer and entertainment system, so no power surges or spikes could have killed it. I read many of the reviews from one to five stars, so I did have some reservations about the proprietary power connector and durability before buying. I should have followed my instincts. Too Bad. So SAD. $42.99 plus tax down the drain.

I have been using the light for almost a week for 30 minutes in the morning. I quickly worked up to the brightest setting and plan to go 45 minutes tomorrow and see if I feel even better. I don't have what you'd call seasonal depression, I got the light to try to balance out my circadian rhythm which gets out of whack every fall/winter season due to the decreased availability of natural morning light. I feel I have already noticed an improvement on initial feelings of wakefulness after each use. I suspect even greater improvements will follow with continued use. The light is of high quality and not even the slightest bit flimsy or cheap feeling. I use the included stand on the side table in my living room as I catch up on emails and enjoy my coffee. I also like that you can set the time for 15 minute increments for up to 1 hour. If you are considering purchasing one I would highly recommend it. The way I've approached the use of it is, "it can't hurt, it can only help."

My psychiatrist suggested I get one and turn it on when I get up since I work night shift and its dark when I wake up, especially in the winter. It seemed to help make me start my day which resulted in a better overall mood. Now the science of it who knows even if its placebo effect its working hey... its working! Also it can get pretty bright.

Love the simple design with three diff light intensities and a timer with 15 mins increments up to an hour! One thing to note is that for this light to work it must be plugged in. I guess I assumed the cord was for charging and the unit could then be disconnected to go remote. This is not the case. However, it's probably a good thing, so that I must stay stationary and focus my attention on one thing only while using the light... ya know, considering it is meant to be part of a de-stresser and mood booster anyhow! ;-) Thank you for this product!

I bought this for my office due to the lack of windows and it's been really helpful with improving my mood and energy throughout the day. I haven't used the timer, instead I set it to the lowest setting each day and set it next to my keyboard while I check my emails for the first 30 minutes of the day then turn it off. I also sometimes turn it to the 3rd and brightest setting when I'm at a side table during my lunch so it appears as if the sun is shining bright into my office, it's a fun trick when I can't get outside on my lunch and helps my mood. The funny thing is I spent the whole first day thinking this was broken. I set it up and followed the directions step by step and the button wouldn't work until I went to put it back in it's box when I saw the on/off button...which sounds super silly but it's on the top right and wasn't mentioned in the directions.

Truly has been a life saver with my SAD!!! I live in Canada and the days are very short....this light has made a huge difference in my mood and I don't feel the tightness in my chest of sadness. I am very happy !!! I like the easy turn off and on button. It's sturdy on the table. The timer for auto shut-off is in 15 min increments, up to an hour. It's very bright and has 3 brightness settings. I keep it on the table and during my morning ☕ coffee I have it on for about 15 or 20 min. it's been a game changer for me enduring the cold and dark winters!! Very happy!!

I bought this because I was working overnight shifts at my job and I would be very tired all the time especially during my nights off. I got this towards the end of my time working the overnights and it really helped. It is extremely bright, and it feels good quality. My one wish was that it connected via USB C rather than the outdated mini USB (I find the mini USB falls out fairly easily). This is possible using the USB PD spec which can output 20v of power which is close to the 19v that this uses. It would have also allowed this to easily operate off of a power bank which would have been nice.

Very bright! Easy to use, very lightweight and slender. I use it for my seasonal depression and it works for me. Easy to use timer and brightness levels.
