desertcart.com: The Cult of Trump: A Leading Cult Expert Explains How the President Uses Mind Control: 9781982127343: Hassan, Steven: Books Review: A true eye opener, and a must read! - This is a powerful book, and in sight, on just how strategic and manipulative Trump is. This informative book puts a whole new mindset on exactly what and why he is so frightening to our democracy and constitution. Everyone needs to read this book before it’s taken away like so many others are. It’s a true eye opener! Review: For Trump Fans Who Aren’t Afraid of Hard Questions - The Cult of Trump” is a clear, well‑researched look at how authoritarian leaders use classic cult-style tactics to build and maintain devotion, and it focuses on psychology and influence more than on partisanship. Hassan draws on decades of experience with destructive groups to explain how media bubbles, thought‑stopping phrases, and us‑versus‑them messaging can override critical thinking, even in otherwise rational people. Looking at the most negative reactions to this book, it’s hard not to notice that many simply label it ‘biased’ without engaging with the evidence or the author’s arguments at all, ironically mirroring the very patterns of a closed, cult‑like mindset that the book describes. If you’re willing to examine how influence works in modern politics, regardless of your feelings about Trump, this is uncomfortable but valuable reading.

Thorough, Compelling and Alarming
This riveting book authored by Steven Hassan, a former cult member and one of America's leading experts in mind control, helps the reader navigate through the complex maze of what this entails and how to detect and protect oneself from falling prey to a cult environment. In the "The Cult of Trump," Steven Hassan eloquently demonstrates how President Trump exhibits cult-like leadership, resulting in behavior that impacts the very core of our democracy and our Constitution. It is a well-researched and compelling book that raises red flags. The reader is given a comprehensive step-by-step explanation of how nefarious leaders successfully captivate the minds of people. They use strategies such as frequent lying, repetition and gaslighting, turning their listeners into unwavering loyal followers willing to do whatever it takes to support and protect them. Steven Hassan's BITE model on page 79-83, clearly illustrates how cults regulate people's behavior, information, thoughts and emotions. As much as we want to believe that mind control only happens to "weak-minded" people. Think again. This book alarms us to the fact that we are all vulnerable given the the right circumstances. Any manipulator can influence our minds and change how we view the world from their malevolent perspective. To protect the mind from undue influence, this book helps the reader increase their ability to recognize certain patterns and anticipate consequences. In general, it helps enhance discernment and critical-thinking skills. In great detail this author exposes the dynamics of cult leadership and their incessant craving for adulation, and power, which feed their narcissism and grandiose delusions. With more knowledge and awareness on how insidious tactics are utilized for personal gain, power and control, the reader will decipher and come to a well-informed conclusion about the President of the Unites States. For those interested in helping their loved ones who are under cult influence and those who may be concerned about the integrity and health of our nation, this book is highly recommended.

Mostly good and informative
Very informative book. And I’m learning a lot. There is a mistake that the author made though. When he describes cult leaders who have been sexually molesting children, he uses the wrong kind of language. He phrases it as “having sex with a 10-year-old “or “engaging in sexual activity with young girls”. Those aren’t Word for Word, but they are wrong. It is always rape when it is with a child.

Prominence of Religious & Political Cults Helped Give Rise to Donald Trump
I found Steven Hassan book to be very helpful. It brings forth his lens of seeing the world as someone who was a former cult member of the “Moonies,” the Unification Church led by Sun Myung Moon. Hassan brought that experience to show how Trump uses the exact same tactics of cult leaders like the Rev. Moon, Rev. Jim Jones, and other extreme cult leaders to gain power all the way to the U.S. Presidency. Hassan then shared how Trump uses the same techniques of major cult leaders to hold, cement, and gain even more power. All of this may seem obvious to anyone. At the same time, I found it to be beneficial all the far right religious groups, Protestant Christian, Catholic, and far right Jewish religious sects, as well as the Moonies and other cults who helped usher Donald Trump to the U.S. Presidency. I found this book as a good source to understand the religious aspect of what helped lead to this present age of Trump that we are living in currently.

Highly recommended
A popular clinical psychologist who is an expert on cults clearly explains their ins and outs. If you know someone who is brainwashed by MAGA, explain to them the history of Jonestown and the People’s Temple Agricultural Project. If that is too heavy of a lift, try explaining to them what a malignant narcissistic personality disorder is and why it is dangerous. You can use the descriptions geared for laymen by Dr. Les Carter and his dog Gus.

Steven Hassan had the unsettling experience of having spent time in the cult of the Moonie. He was intensely grateful to be rescued by his family and that still motivates him to try to help those who are caught up in the cult of Trump.

Extremely interesting review of Trump's first term. Author was once in a cult so knows what he is talking about. He is now a psychologist.
