Amazing watch, but buy a replacement band
Very pleased with the watch, looks and feels wonderful. That being said, the comments about the band feeling cheap are not wrong. I will definitely be ordering a 20mm lug replacement band. Still totally worth the buy! Great addition to my elevated formal wear without being over the top.

Classy watch at a reasonable price point from a well known brand
Nice looking watch. Can be used for formal and casual use. The round case size is just right.

Unique but still classy
Very beautiful and simple automatic watch at a reasonable price. I finally decided on the red “Negroni” color scheme because I already have green and blue watches, and it does not disappoint. The patterned watch face glimmers in the light, but the red is still dark enough to be subtle. Movement is made in Japan and works very well so far.

Classic
Great size, solid entry dress watch if you're looking for one.

Great watch, blue dial much darker than the photo displayed.
Great-looking watch, but the photo of the blue dial color is much brighter in person. The dial almost looks black unless it has a lot of light on it. This watch has the upgraded 4R35B caliber instead of the 4R35A. Both still have 23 Jewels, as stated on the back of the watch, regardless of what you might read online. It does have a Box-Shaped Hardlex crystal, which is better than a regular mineral crystal, but not as scratch-resistant as a sapphire crystal. You can upgrade the crystal to sapphire, but the ones I have found are not AR-coated and run $99 without tax or shipping, so you will need to include professional installation on this watch as well. The watch is easy to set, and the second hand stops when you pull out the crown, so you can stop it at the 12 position for precise time. Pressing the crown back in will restart the second-hand movement, so you have the exact time. If you want to change the date because of a month that has fewer than 31 days, move the time to the 6:30 position, change the date, then set the time. Why, you ask? To avoid damaging the delicate internal gears that automatically advance the date at midnight, a period often called the "danger zone" (roughly 9 PM to 3 AM). Even if your watch doesn't have this feature, this is a good habit to adopt. I got the leather band, and it fit perfectly right out of the box (7.5" wrist). However, the band doesn't seem perfectly centered in any hole, which isn't a deal breaker, but I would have thought at least one hole would have been perfectly centered. The watch is very thin and fits nicely under the sleeve of my dress shirts, and even better under my casual long-sleeve shirts. The watch is neither too big nor too small and goes from dress to casual, no problem. Had the dial been a brighter blue, I would have rated this 5 stars. Had the watch had a sapphire crystal, I would have rated it 5 stars. However, with both of these features missing, I give it 4.5 stars. It's still a beautiful watch, and striking in the correct light, and I would recommend buying it again. Also one last thing, this watch keeps great time about +/- 4 seconds per day, when worn daily.

Great watch for all occasions
This is a great automatic mechanical watch for just little over 300 USD. As is known to the watch community, Seiko is an ancient watchmaker that existed the same time as Audemars Piguet and even before Rolex and has an amazing horological value in the history. Seiko had seriously shaken the Swiss watchmakers and caused the historical Quartz revolution. So I won't even bother with the word "fashion watch" on this one because this is not, as some other reviewer described. For little over 300 USD, you are getting the Seiko 4R35 movement, (not the 6R15 as they used in the JDM counterpart), which is decent, with about +6S/day on the one I got. This is right on the edge of COSC +6S/day for the standard of the Swiss makes. So I'll say the accuracy is not that great but good enough. In case you don't know, only 3% of the Swiss makes are certified by COSC anyways. The dial of the watch is very detailed, especially the beautiful sun ray pattern, each ray covers exactly one minute. And if you look closer to the dial, all the metal parts are finely polished. The dial is in silver/grey color, not as blue as showed in their official pictures. And I think this is one problem of most of those good old brand, that they cannot take a good picture of their watch what so ever. Under the sun, it has a very faint blue tint, and that is amazingly beautiful. The hands are craft in the attention to details as well, the second hand is slightly bent at the tip to compensate the shape of the dome glass. From the back, you can see the movement and the very carefully polishing pattern on the parts as well. The second hand is hackable, and you can also manual wind the watch instead of rely on your body movement to auto wind it, which added a little bit more fun to it. Of course there are shortcomings of this watch. First of all, I'm not trying to compare this "Seiko" with "Grand Seiko" or "Credor", which are the two luxury brands under Seiko, since the price are not even on the same level. But overall, this might be the best mechanical watch you can get. The Hardlex crystal is little bit disappointing, but I understand Seiko is trying to segregate the lower end watch with their Grand Seiko. The hour and minute hands are slightly misaligned, but you won't really notice it unless you are doing a serious review and put the watch under microscope like me. And the OEM strap is as bad as their JDM counterparts. Corners have been cut in order to achieve the price point. So if you got the watch, unless you really like the plastic feeling blue stitch strap that is borderline offensive, get a real alligator or lizard strap and it will look great and fit most occasions.

Great watch with a beautiful dial!
This is my first automatic watch. I was researching nice automatic watches for months because I enjoy the concept of just gears and springs at work. I saw this and it reminded me of sunshine through summer leaves, with its green dial and gold numbers. I wear it every day and I still enjoy looking at the gears through the back. Really amazing product! I would not mind getting the blue one.

So Beautiful!
It was love at first sight for me. This green dial is phenomenal and after just three days of wearing it, I have lost count of the compliments it has received. IMO the wrist strap is poor. I also ordered a Barton replacement 20mm classic black leather with gold buckle and that looks and feels so much better than the stock strap. Many online reviews complain about the lack of the sapphire crystal (which is tougher than the stock) especially at this price point, but so far, so good. I'll primarily be wearing this when I am dressed up, which is not that often (I'm retired - no day job) so I am not that concerned. And really, if I (or you) wanted to, the sapphire crystals are not that expensive and could be easily added. This is not a diver so keep it as dry as possible. It is rated to just 5 bar so an occasional splash or a few rain drops should be AOK. Just don't shower with it. ;-) The users' manual is a download from Seiko. It is very easy to set (there are a few rules to follow for the date function) and after three days it has kept perfect time to the second. The second hand can be stopped so there are no issues to set to an exact time. It is automatic but can also be hand-wound (consult the manual) easily enough. I registered it on the Seiko web site - easy-peasey, for the three-year warranty. I absolutely LOVE this watch! It is my one and done for a dress watch.
