Q: Does it work for gel polish?

If it's a good quality and pigmented gel polish, otherwise it doesn't show up very well. In my opinion it would be much better to use a stamping polish. Hope it helps

Use stamping polish, not regular polish! It's thicker (one-coat opaque coverage) and dries slowly. Avoid any 60-second or translucent polishes, as they're much too thin! You must clean the plates with 100% pure acetone! Anything containing oil, such as blended removers will affect the stamp quality. Btw, that goes for plastic plates, which naturally contain oil, thus are less effective. But for the stamper, AVOID acetone as it will eat through the silicone. Instead, use just tape or a lint roller to easily pick off the dried fragments. You can even use tape to trim down transfers. Scrape the excess polish at a 45-degree angle, ensuring polish coats the etched portion of the stencil. And stamp quickly, without pressing hard or rolling. Once on the stamp, you can take a bit of time before applying to your nail. Lastly, watch a LOT of YouTube videos and practice, practice, practice!

Q: How do you clean the plates and stamper?

😲NEVER use remover or acetone on the fragile stamp head!! Most of the time, you can easily lift dried polish remnants off the stamper using scotch or transparent tape, microporous tape (see first aid supplies) or a sticky-sheet style lint roller. If the stamp head does get greasy or dusty, you can wash it gently in plain (dish) soap and water, never anything containing emollients. Then leave it to drain upside-down on paper towel to ensure any seeped-in oils have drained out. Note: You should never "prime" a (newer) gelatinous silicone stamp head using a nail file or anything rough!🙄 That will adversely affect the ability to pick up and print crisp images. To clean the stamping plates, use 100% pure acetone, not "nail polish remover", as these contain (oily) moisturisers and other softening ingredients. Such removers may be gentle on your nails and great for your cuticles, but oil prevents the pick-up and adherence of the (stamping) polish. Happy stamping!🌈😊💅
