I purchased this item while building a new computer when I realized that there would be no front USB ports. There are two versions, one with a lot of USB3 ports and one with 2 USB3, 2, USB2, 1 USB-C and old style microphone and headphone jacks. I ordered the second one with the variety of ports. It fits nicely in a standard 5.25in computer bay similar to a CD/DVD rom. Installation was straightforwards and I had no issues though you should ensure that you have the correct available connectors on the Motherboard prior to ordering. My only complaint which is not much of one is that I wish that instead of 2 USB3 and 2 USB2 ports that it had 4 USB3 ports as who needs strait USB2 ports now days especially as USB3 is backwards compatible.

This is a great USB Front panel. I would give it five stars but I am a bit picky on the LED light. It would be nice to see this product released with a jumper for Status LED on off capability for those of us who prefer not have a blue LED at night.

The headphone port on the front of my PC broke and the direct replacement parts are discontinued so I purchased this so I can plug my headphones in to the front of my PC case. The audio port works great, and the 5 USB ports (especially the USB-C port) are a pleasant bonus! As another reviewer mentioned, I was glad that the brand name was NOT plastered on the front panel - it looks much cleaner without it. It installed easily with the cables being plenty long enough to reach the appropriate ports on the MB in my full tower case. The front face fit in the opening of my front cover with only minor adjustments.

I have had many of these over the years (I only "build PC") and no case offers the outputs that reflect what most people would need (USB ports on the front of the case), so I buy a "USB port" to use in an unused drive bay (that we no longer use these days). Most a cheaply made and problematic, all have failed on me after a extended use. This one has given me NO PROBLEMS in any aspect (so far). And, it has the prefect layout - a pair of cheap USB-2's, a pair of USB-3's and a USB-C (which I will be using more and more often). If I was to build another PC, I would get this one! (Unless the world changes and the above USBs are no longer used).

I don't even know if this thing works because I never got that far. First issue: it doesn't fit flush in my case and so it can't lock in with the screws. The metal frame on the sides is double the width it should be which runs into the plastic guards of the case. You can see in one of my pictures how much thicker it is than a normal 5.25" disc drive. Since it doesn't lock in, you could literally grab it and just pull it out when it's "fully installed," or it could just fall out the front of your computer if you tipped it forwards. Second issue: it almost ruined my motherboard! I decided to return it since it doesn't fit and I attempted to unplug the USB header from my motherboard and the plastic guard came with it! It was so stuck that the end of the cable ripped off and pliers had to be used to take the two pieces apart! Luckily I was able to slide the motherboard plastic back on and no damage was done, but that was very frustrating after already dealing with the fitment design flaw. I have attached a picture of what the cable looks like now on its way back to Amazon. All I wanted was some extra USB ports!!

今使っているPCの筐体(きょうたい)の全面USBスロットが4つしかなかったので増設のため購入しました。ですが４つ+８つで12になると思ったらさにあらず。ポート分岐コネクタを使っても８つ以上に増やすことはかないませんでした。それでもキーボード用、無線マウス用、ドングル用、外付けSSD用、お絵かき用片手デバイス用と繋いでもポートが余るので重宝しております。旧ポートは目隠しで塞いじゃいました。自作をする人にとっていいパワーアップパーツになると思います。

I connected it and it got damaged immediately. Burnt smell comes from the item.It works even though.
