Massively helps with consistency. With a T shaped tamper is it's easy to go off level meaning the puck is tamped lower on one side. Shots will be under extracted. With a distributor the puck is always level so you get maximum extraction. This distributor is really well made and a solid hunk of metal. Get one, you won't regret it.

Honestly cannot recommend this enough. Feels great when using - really nice weight. I adjusted the depth to suit exactly and then locked it in place, so now it works perfectly every time. I like that I can twist backwards if I have overfilled the portafilter, and the profile of the tamp allows some of the coffee to be removed by tipping it over the knock box when twisting. Highly recommended.

An absolute must for your coffee setup. The distributor feels sturdy, has a nice weight to it and spreads the coffee evenly in the basket. Couldn’t recommend this item enough

I thought I would give this a try after watching a review of “the Jack” on wholelattelove. But I didn’t want to spend a fortune. This really works very well in replace of a tamper. It provides a level of consistency over a traditional tamper. I had to remove the rubber o-ring to adjust the level to near enough full depth, this was for a 18g of coffee in a 18g vst basket. The naked shots I have been pulling are immaculate. Buy one, you will be a convert.

It is ok, does the job but it is not something I would buy again. The parts are not sitting perfectly on top of each other, they’re crooked.

Solid distribution tool, so much better results than a tamper, which can often make the puck wonky. Glad I bought it, highly recommended
