Review: Great Attachment! - Great attachment. If you need to cut small or thin pieces of wood or plastic you really need this Dremel accessory in your tool inventory. I have only tried it on about 6-7 cuts thus far. I found the best results when the work piece is clamped and in using two hands, one to hold the tool and the other hand to guide the Mini Saw works the best. Perhaps with practice this method will change. Just as with any other power saw, let the tool do the cutting, not the muscles in your arm. Well designed and manufactured Mini Circular Saw. Another Dremel tool that’s well worth the price. Very easy to attach to and position on the hand tool. The saw cuts quickly through the material and leaves a smooth edge. The tool is light duty which should be evident from looking at the pictorial in the ads. Use the right tool for the right job! I have not had any trouble with the blade guard or seeing the guide line and kerf through the clear plastic housing. It cuts a clean thin kerf. Keep in mind it is not a heavy duty cutting tool. “Spinning” in collet chuck problem resolved. Reading the reviews before purchasing this tool a number of them said they encountered problems with the attachment “spinning” in the Collet Chuck. In spite of those reviews it looked like such a great tool idea that I just had to try it for myself. Indeed there was a rotating problem. When I attached it to the Dremel series 4000 tool the Mini-Saw would rotate freely even though the coupling knob was tightened as far as it would go. I then tried it on a second 4000 and had the same problem. While on the phone with Dremel Support, they tried the 670 Mini Saw on a 4000 tool. The saw tightened securely on their tool. They then thought I may have a defective unit and sent out a replacement. The exact same problem occurred with the replacement unit. I called Dremel again and they had no answer for the problem. All they said was send the 2nd unit back to them. I said “before I return it I would try to find a nearby Dremel dealer and take my 4000 with the 670 attachment to them to help resolve the issue.” I then took a closer look at the 670 assembled on the 4000. It became quite clear that the problem was due the coupling knob bottoming out on the front end of the 4000 housing body. I decided to remove a small amount of material from the open end of the black coupling nut. I ended up removing .050/.060 of material, cleaned up the burrs and reattached it on the tool and it tightened up securely. No rotation at all. Did the same to the replacement unit and it also worked. Now I have two Mini Saws that work perfectly. John OakHill Wood Creations
Review: Good, tough included blade. Very useful attachment, especially for the price. - I had to cut out some paneling in a bathroom with several tight corners that would not accommodate any full sized cutting tool so I decided to try this out. At the price I didn't really expect much but didn't have any better ideas. The attachment fits easily once you realize that you are not too smart to need to glance at the instructions. I started tentatively at the lower speed and it consistently made ragged cuts and/or stalled. After I switched to high speed it began to slice easily through the 3/16" paneling. So far so good. I then began to take up old flooring and discovered that the glue down plastic tiles were covering two layers of linoleum and an additional square glued down tile application. Since I wanted to take out square sections and had no good way to cut the linoleum I decided to try this tool. Worked like a charm. I was taking out manageable sized sections within minutes. It easily cut down to the base concrete and the blade did not deform even though it sometimes hit the base concrete hard enough to spark. If fact, it still cuts wood smoothly. I haven't tried solid hardwood but suspect that would not go as well. I will probably try that out eventually.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Handy circular saw for small cuts in tight spots in thin materials
*by P***T on February 5, 2019*

This review is of the Dremel 670 Mini Saw Attachment. It fits on most Dremel rotary tools made in the last couple decades. If the rotary tool can accept more common attachments such as the flex shaft attachment, the this saw should fit as well. This attachment turns the Dremel rotary tool into a miniature circular saw, and it can fit into spaces that a full sized circular saw will not, and for that matter even the Dremel Saw Max and similar tools are much larger than a normal rotary tool with this attachment. The saw comes with a single 546-01 1-1/4-Inch Diameter Rip/Crosscut Blade, so you should also plan on buying several more of the 546-01 blades, which seem to run about $5 each. These blades do not look like they will last for extended amounts of cutting. They are made of thin metal, and have very minimal kerf to the 48 teeth. Dremel says that the saw is designed to but both with, and across, the grain of the wood, and indeed the saw does seem to be intended only for wood an similar materials. I doubt that it would work well on most plastics, but I think it would work well on thick and/or corrugated cardboard, foam board, etc. The saw body is made of a thick transparent plastic. It is angled a few degrees from the shaft of the rotary tool, just enough that the greater width body of the rotary tool will not prevent cutting far away from the edge of the material, in other words the rotary toll will be angled downwards slightly, and then the shaft bends a few degrees to allow the saw to be perpendicular to the material being cut, without the rotary tool body hitting the material. I cannot easily tell how the bend in the drivetrain is done. It does not seem to use a flexible shaft, and I also don't think that gears are used. My guess is that a tiny universal joint is used. The bottom of the saw body has a blade guard made of black plastic. It is hinged on one end and spring loaded to keep it normally in a position that fully surround the blade. You can press the saw body straight down onto the work material for a plunge cut, or cut from the edge of the material, and the blade guard simply retracts into the saw body. The saw is designed to cut material of 1/4" maximum. I have tried this saw on 1/4" balsa wood, 1/8" and 1/4" 'craft/aircraft' plywood, regular 1/4" plywood, and 1/8" Masonite (hardboard), and in all cases it cut easily and cleanly. The clear saw housing made it fairly easy to see what I was cutting. This saw is potentially quite dangerous. The normal Dremel rotary tools do not have trigger operated motors like a normal circular saw would have, so simply releasing your grip pressure will not stop the blade. This saw can cut deeply enough to partially sever a finger, or make a cut in flesh that would require more than a band-aid....medical attention would be required. This saw is probably not recommended for anyone who cannot keep their wits about them when using the tool.
