Does it work with Windows 8

yes it should. it doesn't require drivers. windows 7 and server 2008 R2. the generic audio drivers from windows work fine. you can always just install the windows 7 drivers if 8 doesn't come with them stock, but they do as far as i know.

the turntable i am using has built in speakers, and RCA output jacks for external speakers, will this work??

Offhand, I have to say NO. If you are speaking of one of those Crosley-branded portable "phono to CD" machines, just throw it away. Besides the fact that its "turntable" is less than "mediocre"; it is truly a POS. Now, IF you seriously want to transfer your old vinyl to CD, buy a direct drive turntable from eBay (about $100) and any used old Radio Shack (Realistic) amplifier or tuner that has a "Tape Out" and "Tape In" jacks WITH a "magnetic cartridge" input and connect the INport Deluxe from that unit's "RCA" jacks. Frankly, would recommend, if budget is a major issue, you can get a "Realistic SA-150" Amplifier: you don't need "power". You only need low level (line out/line in) setup. There is on on there right now with 6 days' bidding left; no bids so far; start $15. Also, go to a "thrift" store: Goodwill, St. Vincent DePaul, MANY others, you have to be aware of them. But since vinyl is now being produced again in mass quantities for original "ANALOG" lovers (such as me, but much wealthier) so the prices even on very old stuff has gone ballistic! Garage sales, estate sales, anywhere you can look, OH I FORGOT, Craig's List. I doubt that it will work successfully with a "speaker out" jack. Good Luck.
