05078 Throttle Body and Air-Intake Cleaner - 12 Wt Oz.

I used this to clean my 2014 F150 5.0 throttle body while it was off for a water pump install. The backside of the throttle plate was full of gummy oil varnish. I initially sprayed it down, scrubbed with a toothbrush and repeated a few times. Inside of the throttle body was shining like brand new when complete and I still had well over half a can left of the cleaner. CRC cleaner just melted the oil varnish away quickly. update: My sunfire heater was running rough, smokey start up and smell when running. I had half a can left so I used it to clean my diesel heater fuel nozzle. It melted residue off the nozzle until it was shiny new clean, blew it off and dried with a lint free shop towel. Installed and had a smoke free start up and the heater is running like new.

You can check your car's throttle body for dirty deposits when your car starts to stall, hard starts, or surge. These deposits interfere with the TPS ( throttle body positioning sensor) and will confuse the car's computer. This cleaner is made to clean the precise area of your throttle body assembly. Avoid using harsh carb cleaners or brake clean as these will damage the precise fit of the throttle blade in the fuel injector. It's far less expensive to clean up a part than replace it. Check online for tips of cleaning your car's fuel injector throttle body.

Works well on cleaning the Throttle Body.

Product actually does a great job on throttles, however... 1. The chemical is a mixture of acetone and toluene, which will eat through plastic like a shark through a tuna. 2. The spray is also highly volatile, so this is a serious fire and/or explosion hazard. NEVER simply spray down the throat of an open throttle because (a) if there is any plastic-ey parts down there you will destroy their integrity, and more importantly (b) collected unevaporated chemical will probably seep into the cylinder and wreck your engine. I completely removed my throttle body from the top of the manifold, then removed everything that was made from plastic, which left only a cast aluminum (and some integrated steel springs/etc) part. The product did a stellar job of cleaning all gunk off of the throttle body and restored it like new. I allowed the part to dry for about an hour to make sure there was no liquid residue left before reinstall. Car has perfect throttle control again.

Don't squirt it into throttle body. Spray it on shop towel or rag to clean. I wouldn't use harsh brushes either.

Seems to have better throttle response. Need more riding time in to see how it will work to be sure. Recommend for cleaning as it did remove gunk you can see into throttle body!
