Whether it's a great feature or not, that's a question. My concern is that in hot weather the straps will retain sweat and become smelly quickly. Also, the design of these sandals is somewhat unusual; they are wide, but too short for the size. In terms of the length, one needs to buy a half-size bigger FitFlop sandals than their regular size (maybe even a whole size bigger).
