Although the author wrote this book before everyone went full tilt with their Garmins and Strava packs but this little book is small enough to fit in your backpack and contains some really well thought out and tested rides. Complete with clear maps and guide and short write ups to give some great ideas for South west mountain biking.

Only done 2 rides so far but excellent rides. Beautiful scenery and quite exhausting. You need to be fit! (Ok did start with a black ride!) Really varied terrain to test all your skills. Routes well planned. Thoroughly enjoyable

I bought this book as I am new to the South West and was struggling to find decent places to go mountain biking. This book was exactly what I needed, it breaks the rides down into 3 areas; Dartmoor, Exmoor and the Quantocks and gives you all the information you need to find and complete the rides including both maps and written descriptions which you would have no chance of finding without the book. There is also an illustration highlighting the ascents/descents throughout each ride which I thought was a nice touch as it gives you a good indication of what you're up against.All in all a great book, well worth the money, I'd definitely consider getting the book for other areas of the country....

Excellent book, as all are in this series. My only criticism is that it would be nice to have downloadable GPX routes for all rides.
