Super affordable, and it worked. We now have ice again!
After moving into our new-to-us house, we quickly realized our aged refrigerator was suffering from a no-ice situation. After doing a little troubleshooting (youtube university) I quickly came to the realization that our old ice maker was dead. I unplugged the fridge and pulled the old ice maker out. The damage was verified when I took the control board off the end and burnt pieces fell out. So I ordered this replacement from Amazon. It arrived quickly and was super easy to reinstall. Within an hour I heard the first drop of ice. I let our ice bucket fill up and dumped the first load to make sure any plastic dust or dirt from manufacturing was good and gone. The next bucket of ice we used and have enjoyed ice ever since. Super affordable and super effective! Just make sure you do your homework on troubleshooting first to make sure it is actually a bad ice maker rather than a bad water valve, or high temp in the freezer, etc. Ice maker is still working great after a few weeks installed, so hopefully it lasts.

bad quality
this ice maker worked ok for couples of weeks then it stopped to make ice, the white spin thig got stuck with ice, I had to defrost it to be able to make it " work " again, then it started to make ice one more time but during the filling water, it did not stop causing a over filling causing a mess, fortunately I was in home when this happen.

Works just fine
Not quite sure why the old one crapped out (the first one (OEM) lasted 2 years, the second 18 years). The only thing it could use is an easier to modify water cup (it was not dimpled at all and I had to use tin snips to get it to properly clear the fill tube) - or maybe multiple cups of different heights. Small nit.The critical thing is that it works, and that's exactly what's expected, isn't it?Expected value for a good price. I'm happy.

More to the story
So, I purchased a Supco ice maker and it didn't work. Seeing several kinds on Amazon I requested my money back and bought this one. When received, I opened the box and guess what came out?.... a Supco - same paperwork, same product. It didn't work! I checked all electrical and continuity points as described on YouTube. When considering what to buy I read some reviews saying that these have been sent back for replacement for not working and were received with a refurbished one. One guy had returned three of them before getting a good one. So, I took the chance and sent this second one back for replacement. Finally l received a good one (third one) that worked. My suggestion is to go on YouTube and learn the specs for the inputs on the side of the unit. With a voltage meter you can check voltages and continuity (resistance). It's easy. Then be prepared that the ice maker may not work. At least you know how to check it and send it back for replacement if you have to. Lastly, I've been an aerospace engineer for 35 years. These ice makers could be designed much better but for the cost - that's just the way it is.

DIY without a doubt!
Product was perfect replacement for worn out icemaker. Removal and Installation was a breeze. 10 minutes tops. Definitely a value and no problem for the Do It Yourself type. Full replacement cost was less than a service call. Highly Recommend item.

Ice Maker
Arrived on time. No issue until the ice maker is 7 months old and it stopped working again. I am down to purchasing it again or considering buying a newer fridge. This is the second ice maker I have put into this fridge. Was easy to replace and had ice within 12 hours the ice ben was full.
