German WWII Folding Shovel Klappspaten (Foldable Spade)

This thing is a beast, in a good way! Feels incredibly solid. I love the 3-position locking mechanism (folded back, open 90 degrees, open the full 180 degrees). This is definitely staying in the storage compartment of our Vistabule teardrop trailer!

Excellent folding spade repro. Only inaccuracy is the nut material

Went to use it like a pick folded at a 90 degree angle and the nut ended up binding on the threads and that was in soft sand no hard clay or packed dirt! I had to use a hammer and tap the nut back so I could loosen it up and fold the shovel. The shovel is built like a tiger 2 tank, strong, beefy, nice looking, just not reliable! Like the tiger 2’s transmission the nut on this shovel is the weak link! Other than that it’s a decent shovel

I recieved this today and was very excited to use it so I went out and went metal detecting and it kept loosening at the screw part and then was trying to shop the dirt and the screw part came loos and bent so it's not staying tight now
