Fun product
This was a gift for someone on my list . We have worked one of these before and they are a challenge and a lot of fun. Good for a couple to work together.

Fun, Challenging Mystery
This puzzle was a joy to put together. The pieces were well-made and the colors were visually appealing. It was a challenge to put together this puzzle without an idea of what the final puzzle would look like, but it was a captivating challenge. The answer to the mystery, however, left me feeling somewhat disappointed. What I expected was having to identify a variety of elements in the puzzle to locate the answer. Instead, the answer was basically spelled out in large letters in the puzzle itself.

Spoiler image! Loved this puzzle
I added an image because I’ll admit there were moments where I got frustrated and wished I could take a quick look to get an idea of what the puzzle was. BUT with that being said, really the part that I loved was that I DIDN’T know what the image was. Once I got a decent amount put together, I couldn’t stop working on it. Took me a little while to do but this is the first puzzle I’ve done probably ever, beyond small ones when I was a kid. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and loved the mystery of not knowing what the final image was. The story was eh, but reminded me of the Poirot mysteries which I love. Bought another from this brand as soon as I finished this one and can’t wait to get started on it! Only con - I had one corner piece missing, but honestly I moved the puzzle around the house on a board to work on and could have lost it along the way so I won’t fault the manufacturer on that and it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the puzzle.

FUN!!
A great present for any sleuth and puzzle person! Not too hard but challenging enough. We love these when the weather makes being outside too dangerous. A great night in without spending.

Awesome puzzle, but...
I was super interested the idea of a mystery puzzle. I love puzzles and murder mysteries, and I love a challenge too. The story made me feel like I was watching a murder show. The puzzle was just the right level of difficulty- not so easy that I could do it in one sitting, but not so hard that it took me months (it took me two weekends). The pieces are rather sturdy and fit together nicely. And I liked how the solution was written backwards, that was cool. However, as I was putting it together, I started to notice that there seemed to be pieces missing. I thought that maybe I just hadn't found the right ones yet and they were hidden among the others. But after finishing the puzzle, there appear to be 20 PIECES MISSING. 1 or 2, okay... But 20?! From a brand-new puzzle??? I saw other reviews saying that theirs had a missing or odd piece, but I didn't think one piece would bother me, and I wanted to solve it. Now I am just kinda disappointed. My dad, who got this for me, wanted to give this puzzle one star. But I really enjoyed the experience, aside from the missing pieces.

Fun and challenging
These puzzles are so much fun! I love the challenge of solving without an image which increases the difficulty (in a fun way!). The only con would be that the mysteries are not always clearly evident in the puzzle, but still a fun hobby!

The Fourth Time's a Charm
Well, I've done four of these 1000 piece mystery jigsaws, and this was the most enjoyable one of all. I didn't tear my hair out; didn't obsess all night over a gob of pieces that were exactly alike (sure seemed to be); fought off an urge to sweep the whole thing onto the floor; read the story a couple of times (doesn't help); and finally ended up with a very satisfying experience as well as a petty interesting picture. These puzzles may get easier with improved technique, but technique won't help if so many of the pieces are similar in pattern and color. Then it's mostly a hard slog, but worth your time. I've learned to sort the pieces immediately into like colors and patterns, and I rotate my position regularly so I can see each part with "new eyes." It helps that the bottom on the puzzle has identifying info (production/publishing co. and date). And I measure each section of the frame as it gets built, so I can correctly position all four sides. Believe me, this helps. Some of the puzzles I worked with are horizontal and some vertical. The first one took a couple of months, working off and on (grrrrr); the second and third took just over three weeks and some aggravating moments; the Orient Express lasted me nearly two weeks, working with considerable enthusiasm and not one moment of gritting and grinding my teeth.

The puzzle itself is pretty challenging, particularly with no referencing materials. It has lots of similar colours and patterns across the picture so splitting pieces into sections is tough. The picture also takes time to fully emerge and it’s not clear at all what you’re making. Took two of us around 6hours of concentrated effort. HOWEVER the story and prologue sets the expectation you’ll be solving clues within the puzzle to crack the case and find the murderer and this doesn’t really happen. You essentially complete the puzzle and the answer is just there in front of you. No deduction needed. It’s a fun concept and it kept us entertained, but I’d set expectations that’s it’s a story and a puzzle, rather than some sort of murder mystery.

I really enjoyed doing this puzzle. Similar to the Titanic one in the same series it contains beautiful patterns and colours. I found this one slightly easier than the other but still challenging enough to enjoy. I really liked the unusual shapes to several of the jigsaw pieces that helped to make the puzzle interesting. The mystery was an easy one to solve but fun anyway. There were no pieces missing from the box.

For not having a picture the puzzle wasn't as frustrating as I thought it would be. I enjoyed it. The mystery story was not hard to figure out once the puzzle was all together
