Looks good...but does not fit..that is on me...delivered very quickly...

The item arrived promptly (actually ahead of originally scheduled). It arrived in good shape and should have been easy to install. When I attempted to install it, there was much more resistance than I expected. I worked at getting the knob over the timer stem and suddenly it popped into position. It seemed to work fine, but I have to wonder if the metal D insert stayed in place, or got pushed down into the stem of the knob. I did not risk trying to take it off to check. It's working, leave well enough alone. The stem over which the knob is installed was in good shape when I installed the new knob. I very much like the reinforcement ring that will keep the hub from breaking like the OEM knob.

We’ve gone through multiple knobs that didn’t have the outer metal casing, each one cracking eventually, so I was happy to find this one. Finally, an answer to a very poorly designed (but crucial!) component of the dryer. However, when it came today and I tried to put it on, it didn’t fit. Not only that, when I tried to force it, it popped the entire timing mechanism out of its holding brackets and turned a five second install into half an hour of taking apart the dryer panel and figuring out a way to make this stupid knob fit after putting the timing mechanism back in place. Twice. I ended up using a rubber mallet to hammer it on and even now, it’s not fully on there. I’m more worried that it’s going to end up damaging or wearing down the mechanism shaft. I’ll up the stars on my review if this thing actually stays in place and ends up working for longer than the cheap knobs, but I’m not holding my breath. EDIT: It didn’t stay on. Trying to put it back on popped out the timing mechanism two more times. The entire dryer is not worth the cost of this knob. I threw it away and ordered more cheap knobs for the time being. Guess I’ll keep looking. Don’t waste your money.

The knob is a great buy. Yes it is hard to put on due to the metal ring. But if you you put some grease or vasoline to make it slick to help with the friction. It will go on a little more easier.

This is similar to the usual general electric spacemaker dryers that have the same structure on the inside, but I feel that the metal brace was a little bit too small because it would not fit on the nub even with proper lubrication. I pulled out the metal shelling from the old one and pushed it in here and was able to make it go about 90% in. Be careful with this purchase

Has a metal reinforcing skirt around plastic attachment receiver. Original does not have this skirt.
