Great read for 2nd grader (and parents)
The Mme Pamplemousse books are my 2nd grade daughter's favorite. They are also very entertaining for us to read with her. There are some words she needs help with but the story really holds her interest and she finished it as fast as she could.

Quick read
My third grade daughter finished this in one day. She enjoyed it (said it was very interesting and exciting) and can't wait to read the other books in the series.

Enchanting tale
Got this series for my nine-year-old niece, and she devoured them in record time. So pleased was she, I gave them a read myself. Enchanting.

Great series
My kids love this series. We've read all three of the books- it is very cute and well written- an interesting mix of real places and whimsical magic.

The darkest book yet in this delightful series
Here we rejoin the plucky Madeleine and her friends Madame Pamplemousse and her trusty and capable cat, Camembert on their third adventure. This time, an ancient adversary of Mme Pamplemousse uses Madeleine as a pawn in a bid to get the use of her friend's Time-Travelling Espresso machine. This adversary, a Madame Bonbon is a very dangerous witch, whose two weapons are yummy bonbons and mean girls at Madeleine's school. Charmingly illustrated, this writer has a very affectionate appreciation for Paris. This installment of the series has Madeleine in very serious danger from enemies without and within. Fortunately, she can depend on her stalwart friends Camembert and Madame Pamplemousse for help and support.

Frightening book, unlike the others
Book 1 was a delight in both story and language. Book 2 grew a little scary with the introduction of a child-eating sphinx. But Book 3 was nightmare-inducing for my 8 year old, and we had to stop reading. So disappointing. Please be forewarned.
