Small and mighty
I wish I discovered this thing sooner! Very neatly packaged and feels well built. I used nicer cables than the ones supplied. Connected with my phone and Tidal and the sound is very pleasing. It's not exactly critical listening worthy but for background music it's awesome! Set up was a breeze. I connected into a preamp socket, hooked up to an auxiliary input and paired device. Music started up with no issues. Nothing beats a designated 2 channel system playing quality source material but this little guy is absolutely perfect when you just want music playing and your catalog is unlimited. Definitely recommend

Audiophile BT Receiver, steal for the price.
I was looking for a Bluetooth DAC to stream music on my system in a dedicated listening room. I do know that Bluetooth is not really hi-rez. But with newer tech like aptX that companies like Arcam use, the sound fidelity has gotten much better. One another limitation in my system was that it is has a "passive" preamp. So the source (like CDP or DVD players or HR Receiver) need to have a healthy voltage to drive the amp. This unit checked out on all my requirements: AKM DAC 2V output aptX RCA out Optical out I had not heard of this unit till I did a serious search on the internet for Bluetooth(BT). I compared the specs to some BT DACs upto $500 and this one was all that i was needed. Nevertheless, I was a bit skeptic from my previous experience using a Logitech BT, which had a very low output voltage. The sound was anemic in my passive system. Amazon shipped the unit pretty fast and I did not waste time to hook it up in my main system. I used a Samsung Tab A to stream songs from FolkAlley and Spotify. When the first notes from Folk Alley came on, I was AMAZED. Yes, this perfectly suited my system. All I have to do is set the BT volume on the tablet to FULL. If a user is using a regular receiver or integrated amplifier, you probably will have the BT set to only 50% of the volume, since the built-in preamplifier in your receiver/amp will amplify the sound to necessary volume. Connection is stable and I have tried to connect to this unit via the Samsung Tab A from 2 floors up. My listening room is in the basement. I have to be on the stairs between first and second floor to get a connection. Had some friends over and pairing was very simple. Though they are now music enthusiasts like me, they were amazed to hear how their Spotify music sounds in a dedicated listening room. I could not do this previously since my system is passive and lacked a BT receiver. Soundwise, it sounds phenomenal for a BT Receiver. The DACs are the same as in some megabuck dedicated CD/SACD players. I use the free Spotify and not the premium version. So cannot comment on really hi-rez streaming. But I am so happy with the sound quality, that I decided to give this unit a shout-out using the Amazon review. I did forgot to mention that this unit feels "solid" and not like cheap plastic. So you get the ownership pride too. I wish I was aware of this product when the kickstarter project kicked off. Now for the negative: The biggest gripe is, the beautifully boxed device comes with everything as mentioned on their website, EXCEPT for the USB charger that goes into the power outlet. I really did not understand why this pas not included. As for the authenticity of my "ears" and experience, you can checkout my system at the link below and judge my review: [...] I went with the Black version, since it gels well in my system. I will soon update my system page with a picture of this unit.

Perfect upgrade
A perfect upgrade to my vintage receiver, the sound quality is superb and the pairing setup was simple and the Bluetooth range is more than adequate. I love all the streaming music apps that I’m able to listen to unlimited music.

I don't usually write glowing reviews, but...
After a few months using this thing heavily, I'm in love. - Range: awesome. Obviously if you are sending through a bunch of walls it's going to lose signal pretty quickly, but otherwise I'm able to play music on my indoor speakers while sitting outside, a level below, with a window between, 40ft away. You won't be disappointed. - Sound quality: I have sharp ears and listen on high-end speakers (Focal 826s), and I'm shocked how crisp transients come through. It truly does feel "CD quality" even though I had my doubts going in. If there's loss or distortion in the high frequencies or subs, it's negligible, and complaints made by others about a loss in soundstage (or any major aspect of sound quality) were not noticeable. Plus, the BT sends so quickly between this and your device that there's almost no de-synchronization if you're watching movies or TV and want to make sure the characters' lips move in time with the dialogue. - Setup: took me 2 minutes maximum, including the time I spent pulling my system away from the wall to plug the cables into it. Didn't even have to read the manual. It's very intuitive and very responsive. Then I've got it plugged into my receiver so every time I turn my system on, I just wait a second and the thing pairs to my phone with a "beep" ; there's no hassle, no friction -- I don't even have to do anything. It works so well I forget about it almost entirely. - Build quality - while the plastic feels somewhat cheap on the power button, overall it's weighty and sturdy and I have no concerns that the physical hardware. Time will tell about the electronics, but my overall experience suggests that corners were not cut there either. Works perfectly every time. Only issue is the cables it comes with -- they feel pretty cheap and flimsy. They sound OK and it's easy to get new ones, but on a hifi-marketed device you expect a bit more attention to be paid to something like that. - Conclusion: there's nothing I truly dislike about this little guy. The cables aren't great but who really cares? It delivers on everything I hoped it would do, and it's worth every penny! Definitely recommend.

Easy to connect, comes with instructions and cables-works well!
Easy to hookup, and pairing with all my Apple Mac Pro equipment was a relatively easy process. Using my Itunes BT signal for example, I am routing it thru a NAD-C165BEE preamp with right and left input (hook-ups included in box). The sound quality, and channel L+R separation is very defined and not bad. This is not a mono signal. Speakers are powered by 2 piggybacked Onkyo Power Amps @150 watts. My equipment is within 30ft range of each other. Unit boasts 100' range. So far, a good bargin for the money.

Though this is a bit highly priced bluetooth DAC, but it does a pretty good job in producing nice sound quality. I am using it with the digital optical option and the output is directed to a 5.1 converter and from there it leads to a very old F&D 5.1 channel home theater. I am liking the sound that it produces via bluetooth from either my Samsung phone or my IPad. But not to forget if someone is wanting a real audiophile grade audio with a dedicated special proprietor chip like a BurrBrown or Sabre then go for IFi Zen One Hi- Res. bluetooth DAC which is much more costlier than the Auris blume but provides sound which seems out of the world. A picture of the Ifi Zen one is also there in the picture provided in this review. Kindly check.
