This came up in the searches with GAF tape and bought by mistake. This is not gaffers tape. It is literally black masking tape with weak glue. Paper tape, not fabric like gaf tape.

Amateur alert: I got inspired during the quarantine to play around with photogrammetry 3d image software using modeling clay. I needed a way to black out a lot of things in my photos because my initial results were less than stellar. A quick search led me here and I took a chance. After using it for a few weeks now, I can definitively say I love this tape. I have a terrible history with tape. Shredding clear tape trying to grab at an invisible seam, throwing duct tape away that stuck to itself the second I looked away, weeping as the beautiful washi tape gently falls to the floor within seconds of application. You get the idea. Enter Shurtape: a black knight clad in whatever the complete opposite of shining armor is. Not tacky at all, black on both sides, and possibly sentient- it knows exactly what I want it to do. It's strong where I need it to be, rips where I want it to easily, comes off super easily, and most importantly, transformed my ultra-low budget, desk-sized, photography studio into a void so black that I'm shocked that I was able to escape it and write this review. All my models are now finished and they look great. I'm still not even sure if there was a more appropriate tape that the professionals use when they're in my situation but this one was absolutely perfect for me. I also love the texture/matte look it gives objects- if I were rich I'd use it as wallpaper. TLDR: It was a little pricey for me but I really can't recommend it enough. Excellent product.

This crazy expensive tape is the best. It will not leave a residue nor peel paint off the wall, but adheres perfectly to most surfaces. It's commonly called "Paper Tape" even though it's strong enough to hold things together securely. The flat black finish is great for hiding irregularities that end up in the camera's frame. We go through more of this tape than any other and always keep extra rolls handy on our Grip Trucks.
