Really nice and easy way to store and use pan pastels. I bought the 20. It’s not as flimsy as others have said. But it’s definitely not rigid. If it was, it would be hard to pop them in and out. Overall, much much easier to use this way, rather than keeping them in a screwed together stack. Highly recommended.

Pan pastels come in a stack which is difficult for use; You cannot readily see the colors you need And they are difficult to screw back together correctly. This palette provides Storage that lays out your colors so that you can see exactly which color you need. Do keep your lids though for each color because otherwise they can become powdery and messy inside the palatte even when the lid is Used.

This storage tray is such a smart upgrade for PanPastels. I had been keeping mine in the original box, but being able to see every color at once makes a huge difference while working. The clear case keeps each pan securely in place, so nothing shifts around, and it feels well made. If you use PanPastels regularly, this is absolutely worth it—it makes them easier to use and enjoy.

The PanPastels each fit into the holes perfectly and the lid sits on the base very securely. I opted for the smaller one so they would fit in my work area better. I have purchased four of these so far and none of them have cracked or broken and I've been using the heck out of the PanPastels. Pastel dust can become a problem and the lid can start looking pretty messy, but I just take a tissue and wipe out the lid and it cleans right up. I'm sure you could wash it with soap and water if you needed to, just be sure it's completely dry before you put it back on your PanPastels. The base doesn't flex too much, so I am not too worried about it cracking or breaking. I would worry about the larger one since it would be holding more weight and would, just because of its size, have issues with bending/flexing whenever you pick it up especially if you only picked it up with one hand, which I tend to do. I like this storage solution for my PanPastels and would recommend it to other pastel artists.

The package was well packed but o Two of the pan pastels had small cracks on edges. I liked that trays were included in the package. Love the new colors!!

I am new to pan pastels, having just picked up my first set of ten in the painting colors. The reviews for this product were good so decided to make this purchase at the same time. The vinyl used in this is very clear, flexible, but not brittle. I believe it will work beautifully for a very long time, with moderate care in handling. The pans fit in snugly, and indeed may pose some problem in trying to remove them, so keep that in mind when you consider where you choose to place your colors. The lid seals off each pan area so that there is minimal cross contact of the colors. I had two of my pastel pans arrive with some crumbling on the surface. The other 8 were intact. I am not concerned that the pastels have lost value or use with the crumbling, but I was concerned that the powdered pigments would spill over the other pans. The lid construction prevents this from happening. Bottom line for me is that this is a reasonable price for a product that is of excellent quality materials, and very serviceable design.

So happy I ordered the Armadillo Art & Craft PanPastel Palette Tray. Before I had to unscrew my PanPastels to find colours whereas now they are lined up in a neat palette with a secure lid and I can see them all. I am going to order a couple more as I like the 10 pack. I would highly recommend these palettes to PanPastel artists.
