One of the best knock around shoes ever
I’ve never worn Crocs in my life. Don’t care for the plastic look and feel. And I’ll never own one of those, however this Crocs is something altogether different. Great looking, rugged heavy canvas uppers are very breathable and durable. The removable insoles are classic Crocs footbeds so they have the classic rubbery feel with the knobs. I ordered these because I knew the footbeds were removable so I could take them out and put my footbeds in. My footbeds fit perfect. Either way, for people who like Crocs footbeds or for someone who uses a custom or over the counter insole these are super comfortable. I originally ordered them to replace slippers/house shoes I’d worn out and loved. It was a good decision. These are better. They do have a thicker rubber/polyurethane sole than a typical house shoe but that wasn’t a concern as I walk a fairly long distance to our mailbox and occasionally step on gravel. My problem with this Crocs Santa Cruz slip-on is I wear them more often than I thought I would. But is that a problem? Lol. In fact I’m going to get another pair soon. FIT: So as far as fit goes, I wear a size 14 med in almost everything. I ordered a 14 M and they fit exactly as I hoped they’d fit. They have a little wider toe box without being obnoxiously wide. They have plenty of side to side room for toes and plenty of length. I would say the fit is nearly spot on. At least in the size 14. The width is good. It’s not a walking shoe or running shoe so you can’t snug it up and go for a run. I have walked a quarter mile one morning (without socks I might ad) and they did fine. BTW, these can be worn with or without socks. I wear them without socks. So, fit is good. Comfort is much better than I expected. They breathe well. They’re lightweight. The price is good for what you get making them, in my opinion, a great value. Highly recommended. If you like them get an extra pair because who knows how long Crocs will make them! Enjoy!

Great shoes.
About 8 years ago my dad bought me a pair of these at Bass Prod Shops and I hardly ever wore them. I would mostly wear sandals. Last year I decided to start wearing these. I always wear them without socks, I have a very narrow foot and normally wear a 10.5 or 11 in shoes. I ordered the 11's by mistake and they were to big. I ordered the 10's and they are perfect. For me there is no break in period, they are comfortable from day one. I have never had a blister with them. I don't walk much in them because usually after work or on the weekends is when I wear them but if it's to the mall and there is a lot of walking I don't have any rubbing. They are pretty durable. I really only wear them during the warmer months and I live in the midwest. After wearing them around the house and doing small ends and odds they got to looking pretty shabby. But by no means did they tear or rip or get any holes in the fabric. I still wear the old and ordered these and the espresso colors and wear the old for the jobs around the house. The best part about these is the sole and when the fabric get loose. I guess there is a break in on the upper and sides of the shoes as far as the fabric when new is a little stiff but after a while you'll see that all loosen up but again no issues with rubbing. The sole of the shoe is the best. Very comfortable and durable. I never knew that they had an insole but it is thick and seems more durable that most shoe insoles. The only thing I don't like and it's not really a major issue is when they get soak and wet. They aren't much fun to wear. But they make other shoes for that. Overall they are a great shoes for the summer months and I know people that wear these year 'round with socks so that is an option. I would highly recommend these. Update: 3-30-20 So I have to say I've worn these a primary shoe for summer weather. The only time I don't wear them is in wet weather. I shoe glued the ones that my dad originally bought me and i slip them on to work out in the garage and they are still going strong. They've last a couple of kids camps with my boys and even a basketball pick up game. They are well worth it and they feel the same new as they do many years later. I think they get more comfortable as the years go on because the shoe loosens up. Great shoe.

Love my Crocs!
You van never go wrong with Crocs! Mine were a tad tight to begin with, but with a few squints of water, the canvas relaxed and they fit perfectly! Crocs have little nubs on the sole that seemingly massage your feet as you walk! Bought them for vacation but instantly became my everyday shoes because ... I'm retired!!! Love 'em. You will too. True to size!!!

love(d) these :/
1/29/2015 UPDATE: You can see my original review below. I seriously love(d) this loafer. So comfy, so light. I am happy too that they became more than just "seasonal." I wear them year-around (I just wear thicker socks in the winter). But I have to say that after only one year of use (summer to summer 2013-2014), they have worn/aged incredibly fast. What little tread was there to begin with is completely gone. They are now SO slippery in wet conditions as there is zero traction. I can deal with that. I understand shoes wear. But the material of these soles wear far more quickly than a regular shoe! Traction aside, what bothers me the most are the holes! After only 6 months of wearing, both shoes developed a hole right where my big toe resides. Yes, I clip my nails. Yes, the shoes fit (they aren't too small), but apparently the constant rubbing in just that location has created 2 holes. On one hand, the holes maintain the rustic/rugged style with the frayed edging. On the other hand, it looks completely ghetto...especially if you wear white socks! So again, while I love this shoe...I expected greater longevity at this price point! :/ ORIGINAL REVIEW I have owned the Crocs Athens (original) thong sandal for 4 years. I wear them essentially every day of spring, fall, and summer. This past summer, they finally gave up on me as the thong broke (although I successfully glued it back together, it just doesn't have the same strength). The reviews of the Dual Athens were not good, so I was going to get the original Athens again to replace my old ones. However when I came across the reviews of the Santa Cruz, my attention was piqued. Although they cost more than the sandals, I went out on a limb (or so I thought) and purchased a shoe that I had never even tried on. Some notes: First thing, it fit perfectly. My old Croc sandals were a size 10, so I bought these in size 10. Same, perfect fit! I was very pleased that the sizing didn't change in 4 years. Secondly, the sole in the Santa Cruz (which is removable) felt like the exact same sole of my old Athen's sandal. Extremely lightweight, and as comfortable as I'll be! It was as though I bought a slip on version of my old thong sandal! Third, These shoes are lightweight. I can't even begin to describe (without sounding overly-dramatic) how light these are! You don't feel like you are lugging around anything heavy on your feet wearing these. Super lightweight, super comfortable. Fourth, I was skeptical about their breathability, but pleasantly pleased. While wearing them on a hot summer day in the Midwest, my feet DO sweat....but my feet don't slide around uncontrollably in the shoe. I think this has to do because of the snug, perfect fit for my feet...that there isn't room for my foot to slip and slide around. The nice thing is, while my foot does sweat, it only seems to be on the bottom of my foot where it makes contact with the inner sole. The sweat does not seem to bleed over to the fabric material and is not absorbed by the fabric in any way....which obviously I'm very pleased by. Some people made negative comments about the fraying...it's intentional. It's the style. It's supposed to be like that. It's not the type of fraying that if you pull the end...your shoe will gradually "unwind." I like the rugged character it adds. I've worn them every day for a week straight and have yet to find a genuine complaint about these shoes. If they last as long as my other Crocs, I will be a happy man. If something comes up, I'll be sure to update this review...but after a hard weeks wear, my initial review couldn't be any more positive!!

I hate how much I love these
I bought a pair of these years ago for a cruise and I've bought at least 8 pairs since then. I hate Crocs. I won't wear them. These are different. They are my most comfortable shoes, great when wet, stylish enough to not annoy my wife, and simple to slip in and out of without socks. I always have one pair in working condition (i.e. worn and dirty) and one for going out. They come stiff and take a few days to break in, but it's worth it. Try these!

Wear ‘em everywhere all the time for years!
I just purchased my 3rd or 4th pair in the past in the past 6 years. My most recent pair lasted me 2 years. I noticed that the old pair was just as comfortable as the new pair when I swapped them out. The only reason I bought a new pair was because I forgot to clip my toe nails and my big toe wore a hole through the canvas. 😂 I’ve worn these everywhere from the top of Pikes peak to the bottom of local rivers. I’ve wore them everywhere form raunchy bars to nice restaurants (I know I know). In all seriousness though, these shoes are the best. They’re inexpensive, comfortable, durable and can be worn everywhere. I’m actually thinking about stocking up on more of these shoes just in case they were to ever be discontinued.
