Great product helps with cycling and it gives you ammonia very quickly

I have used Dr. Tim’s Ammonium Chloride in two separate tanks. First my 5-gallon freshwater tank, and now my 10-gallon and it worked exactly as advertised. This stuff helped cycle my tank pretty quick. I was using it with Seachem Stability and saw nitrites show up in just a couple days, which was way faster than I expected. It’s a clean ammonia source and didn’t cloud the water or mess with the pH. Only issue I had was with the dosing—it says 4 drops per gallon but the cap has different markings and it’s not super clear how much to use if you need to redose. I ended up just testing a lot and going by that. Still, it did exactly what I needed it to do and I’d use it again, just wish the instructions were laid out better.

Works perfect for fishless cycling! I now have two cycled tanks and so much ammonia left. I’m so happy. Honestly, they could be sold in smaller bottles because I didn’t need that much for my 20 gallon, 5 gallon, nor 10 gallon. My nitrate levels are still kind of high though

This is the only ammonia source I could find which was specifically intended for cycling an aquarium. I am currently halfway through a fishless cycle (a couple of weeks in) on my new big tank and this seems to be working well - nitrites and nitrates are rising and ammonia is falling... so this works. Obviously make sure you read up on fishless cycling if you're not familiar, but otherwise this seems like a good product and a much better bet than buying household ammonia and hoping it will be safe.

I wouldn't cycle an aquarium any other way. Fishless cycles are the only way to do this without harming or stressing your fish, and this ammonium source works. Obviously don't use this with fish in the tank! Note that some ammonia detection methods (like the SeaChem ammonia alert) won't show ammonium chloride and only detect free base ammonia. The standard API test kit does detect ammonium chloride.
