They pump a ton of water and can be cleaned and adjusted very easily. Sponge filters work much better and all around quieter than regular cartridge replacement filters. They hold beneficial bacteria for the fish and all you need to do is rinse out the sponges every few weeks rather than getting rid of it like replacement filters. **Q: What is the total height of the medium filter with the pipe fully retracted? My tank is only 9" tall.**
A: It’s pretty tall but I managed to use it in my 10 gallon. Hope that helps

**Q: would it need an air pump as well or is ok as is?**
A: Works fine without an air pump. It just doesn't perform the same level of surface agitation without an air pump, even if the outlet is put right at the surface.

**Q: Can it go in 2.5 galllon tank? I have two Betta two tank but one is 2.5 gallon other one is 3gallon**
A: I think it to big

**Q: I just had this deliver yesterday, but it did not include the ceramic bio balls. Should it have included these?**

These are the best and most affordable filters on the market. I’ve used these for several years and they never cease to impress me. They pump a ton of water and can be cleaned and adjusted very easily. Sponge filters work much better and all around quieter than regular cartridge replacement filters.
