Whistles are highly underrated personal safety items and can be a life saver. I’ve tested many personal alarms, aerosol noisemakers and whistles while looking for the best product for my family. This whistle is hands down the loudest I’ve tested that is still easily carried and practical. This whistle also works underwater and in all weather conditions. It has a unique tone that is readily identifiable as an emergency call for help. I also tested the smaller Windstorm whistle and I can’t tell any difference in the tone or sound. Great product!

Yes, they really are that loud. I love these. I keep them for emergency kits, hiking, and similar. Waterproof. Easily visable orange color. Love them.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Purchased the 3-pack for use in SCUBA as a surface signalling device. MUCH louder and easier to blow compared to the typical flat SCUBA whistle. It is bulkier than the typical flat whistle, but it is still compact. Great quality materials, fit, and finish. Thick, rugged plastic. No moving parts. Great value. 4 of 5 stars: the metal split ring is not stainless steel and must be replaced to make it suitable for diving / exposure to (salt) water. Would be 5 stars if it was SS. Will not use the provided lanyards for diving. Other reviewers have commented that it was hard to hear and not very loud. I seriously wonder if they were blowing into the wrong end....

A+ Bought the Storm Whistle's for walking late at night, boating, car, camping & other uses. - It's an excellent tool for those who haven't gone through the training of owning a gun, open carry is not allowed in your city or just feel comfortable not shooting someone, if an emergency arises. - Unlimited whistles; unlike pepper spray or a taser. - 130dB is at one site, equal to a jackhammer or a power drill. 125dB pain begins. - An excellent device for those younger, to see if you can trust them to not blow it, teaches discipline. Boy who cried wolf, is a great story to teach. - Gives those younger/older peace of mind, walking late at night in case of attackers; especially good in you have more than 1+ person with a storm whistle, in case a person, dog or another creature attacks one of the people. Picture; all four are the exact same Storm Whistle & same color; just different lanyards. - Shorter three are ~23.5" & are the ones you get in this order. A buddy of mine blew the Storm Whistle once & said it was really loud.

These bad boys are LOUD. I've been trying to be more disaster-prepared, and these always came up as THE whistles to have in an emergency. We tried one out and barely blowing into produced a noise louder than the metal emergency whistle I already had. I can't imagine the full sound - I didn't want to try it and scare the neighbors.
