I like this stoneware baking dish very much but, as a single woman, mostly cooking only for myself, it really is larger than I need. So, I came back to desertcart and bought the square Haeger stoneware baking dish and use it much more often. I have no complaints about my Haeger stoneware. It is well made, sturdy, and easy to care for. The interior surface does develop some food stains, and they tell you that in the user's guide. The stains on my stoneware are few and do not bother me at all. There is one thing to consider when deciding whether to buy this stoneware and that is that it is very heavy. I am elderly and have lost a fair amount of strength in both hands due to pervasive arthritis. I am able to use it but have to be very careful when handling it. I would not go back to glass baking pans. Stoneware is not going to crack or suddenly explode in your oven. Try it, you'll like it! I bought this instead because it was a deeper dish and I need the extra depth for scalloped potatoes, etc. I was sorry I bought it the second I got it out of the box. It is very rough inside. I was even sorrier when I read the enclosed information telling me that discoloration of the interior was normal with use. It is still sitting on my counter top. I tried to give it away but my sister wouldn't take it. I don't like a rough sandpaper interior, and nowhere in the online description was that fact mentioned. Also, I like a dish to look CLEAN when I have washed it, not stained. I don't use Pam cooking spray or any cooking spray but that is what the info tells me I must do. I would not recommend buying this baker. I think these facts were serious omissions in the description of the product.
