I absolutely love this Kdrama! Great primary and secondary storylines. The characters and the actors that filled those roles are great. I can't imagine anyone else playing those parts now. I've watched it several times already and it will be in my repeat list for a long time. The English subtitles are pretty good. I don't have to try to re-translate the translations like you have to do with some subtitles. It makes it a lot easier to enjoy a show when the translations are good. You can add me to the group of people that love this series. I can see why so many people rave about it. I highly recommend it. Also, I bought the OST too and love it. This series has a great soundtrack.

This is because she is constantly mistaken as a man and now that is how she lives. She works endlessly to try to make her family's finances work out enough to live on for her mother and sister and herself. She is focused on making money. She does a large number of part time jobs from delivering milk, peeling chestnuts, karate class for kids to sewing eyes on stuffed animals. Unfortunately for her, her mother loves to spend money on shoes. While her sister dreams of becoming a kpop star. One day she encounters a person who snatches a purse while making deliveries. She grabs the purse and smashes the scooter she was driving. She lets the person get away as he was a young man who liked her sister even though the feelings weren't mutual. When she gives back the purse she is accused of being part of a planned theft ring by the man. He gives her a business card but refuses to pay for damages to the scooter. He really does think that this is a scam. Later she contacts him to try to collect damages for the scooter and meets him in his hotel room. Due to a funny mishap they land in a jumbled mess while he is in a bathrobe and the woman that comes there thinks he's gay. This makes him think that this is the solution to his problem he has, marriage meetings. He hires her to be his pretend gay boyfriend to deter his family's ability to force him to get married. He buys new top quality matching suits, couple outfits, for them. The contract has different prices for different levels of touching. Even pretend kissing. But what was really important to her was all meals were included, and she can eat amazing amounts of food. But she gets a shock when he kisses her for real because he's so happy that it's working and the ruler has spread about them. They will cost him big bucks. As punishment his grandmother makes him work in a coffee shop and make it a success. The first employee is her. The older man who works there knows that she's a woman. They plan is to attract women to the coffee shop with attractive male baristas. And one very hunky waffle making man. This coffee shop is now ran by attractive, flower boy, type men. And with a video made by her sister and posted online they fast become a success. Business is now such a big success and he falls in love with her. But he still thinks that she is a man. But he is even willing to consider that he might actually be gay because he loves her so much. But what will happen when he figures out that she is really a woman? Can it be kept a secret from the other employees? But will the family accept her? She has a crush on the cousin, will her feelings be returned? Will she fall in love with the boss? How long does it take to figure out that she's a woman? Will the others accept her at the coffee shop as a woman? Will the other employees figure it out first? And some of them might just like her also. Comment I loved this drama. It is very funny that it took so long to figure out that she's a woman. And the situations are crazy. But the cousin that she has a crush on has never once thought that she looked like a man. This confused her boss. I bought this set to replace a set I bought from a rummage sale at a Korean church. This is the version I originally watched and liked best. It has a bonus special features disc. THERE'S A DRAMA FOR THAT

I enjoy this because it brings memoryofthe first time I watched it with my mom. Also, I like the fact there isn't an "evil" step-parent or relative, nor boss that drives the story. It's the misguided thoughts of young people that brings problems as well as solutions. I enjoy the main character's positive outlook on life. How refreshing! The only thing I didn't like were the adult scenes, so this is not for young kids. Had to fast forward in some parts. However, the rest of the 90% of the drama is family friendly.

With perfect actors (three of them have since tragically passed on) and an absolutely gorgeous soundtrack, Coffee Prince stays in your mind and heart for years while other Korean dramas are forgotten a month after you've finished them. In 2021 they had a cast reunion (it's on VIKI) and that was wonderful to see. They were all so proud to be in this drama which in many ways was way ahead of its time in theme and production values. You will never regret watching this classic! Enjoy!

This has always been my favorite kdrama and I am so glad I purchased this. I haven't seen this in years and cannot believe how much of the movie I had completely forgotten. It's such a wonderful Story. The quality was excellent. It took me a minute to figure out how to get the closed captioning in English to work correctly. At first it scared me I thought I had ordered something that wasn't going to work. Anybody who is a kdrama fan this is a highly recommended purchase!

You will love this version of Coffee Prince. Through my experiences of buying foreign dramas, the subtitles have been terrible. I was happy that i read customers reviews before buying this item as i was definitely not disappointed. The subtitles are great, they don't move too fast and the writing is large. If you want to buy Coffee Prince then i suggest that you buy this one. I bought a different version of the Coffee Prince before which was very disappointing. I hope you enjoy this series as much as i have.

I ordered this because I can't watch in on Viki in my region (Europe), and after reading the reviews regarding the picture and subtitle quality I decided it was worth trying. First of all, the actual programme is hugely enjoyable, the actors really make you feel the emotion and the story tracks along really well. It's a bit different to a lot of Korean dramas in that the relationships are a bit more realistic, and I think that makes it even more appealing. As for the DVDs, the quality is okay but certainly not HD, and the format was square rather than widescreen which surprised me given that this is not that old. I found the subtitles okay, for the most part they made sense, so I have no problems with that. I'm giving it four stars, only because the picture quality wasn't up to the standard i've come to expect with Korean DVDs.

Took a while to get into this but I loved it by the end. Great ensemble cast and lovely story.

Fan de dramas, j'ai été très heureuse de trouver celui-ci en coffret DVD. Je ne le connaissais pas mais je me suis lancée et franchement je me suis laissée prendre à l'histoire. J'ai regardé les 17 épisodes en 3 jours tellement l'histoire était super. On y retrouve tous les ingrédients qui font les succès des dramas. Humour, amour, quiproquos et même une ambiguité qui donne toute la profondeur à cette histoire. Les acteurs sont géniaux. Un grand drama que je recommande vivement !

コーヒープリンス1号店が好きで、いろいろ見てきたのですが、日本版は著作権の関係からBGMも差替え、携帯の着信音も差替、ドラマの中の出演者の歌唱や、口笛のシーンはほとんどカットされていました。一説ですと、韓国版と日本版では100箇所近くカットや差し替えがあるとか。。。。 実は韓国版を持っていて（字幕まったくなし）歌唱部分やカット部分はこちらをみていたのですが、私のハングルの知識ではいまいち解読不能で。。。。 今回購入したものは、アメリカMBC版｢海外版正規品｣。 英語字幕、スペイン語字幕、日本字幕がついています。（吹き替え無し） リージョンフリーのブルーレイプレイヤーで見ています。 コン・ユさんの「ノルルサランヘ」も入っています。 コーヒープリンス1号店から10年たちましたが、2017年のコン・ユさん人気で近々、ブルーレイも発売されるとか。。。。。 日本版は、やはりカットシーンがあるものが発売されるのでしょうかね。
