Direct fit for my Anderson storm door - I bought this handle without measuring the spindle diameter before buying . But it seems most spindles are this size standard . This differs from the old handle, in as it only turns up and down. Does not push in. But that's fine because they reinforced the handles catch with a much thicker, harder and tougher type of plastic over metal The only problem I ran into was having to actually cut the old handle off of the spindle. Because if the way it was anchored. A Dremel tool made Kwik work if that. Once I had the spindle in hand. I made sure the outer handle was in the right position. Slid the spindle into it until it seated . Put the inner door handle base on, held it in place with the old attachment screws ( which you will need. Do not throw them away ) slid the inner door handle onto the spindle tightens the handle set screw. Righted the handle base screws. Then clipped on the handle arm. And done. When the door is pulled in to close the nose folds in to allow the door to close. When in place the nose springs out to catch the edge of the door frame and hold it is place. The innards of this piece also contain a spring that holds the outside door handle in place. When the outside door handle is rotated it rotates the nose piece upward to allow the door to open.
