Not What You Think
This review is mainly for American purchasers. I bought this electric blanket because I did not want to buy a Chinese made one. All the Chinese made electric blankets had poor reviews on Amazon. I decided to buy one from Germany because they make quality items. This blanket is 220 Volts so any American using this must buy a step down converter. I did that. The blanket heated up well but the voltage converter hums and may or may not keep a light sleeper awake. This blanket was advertised as for a double bed. The dimensions of the blanket are that of a short double bed however the area with electric wires is not even adequate for a twin. bed. The blanket does not quite cover the bed length wise. When I got into bed there was a 10 inch space of cold at the feet, head and both sides. It seems the manufacturer saved money by not putting the wires to the edges of the blanket. This may have been the only way to compete with the Chinese blankets. The deficiencies of this blanket were enough to make me put it away and use the Chinese made blanket. Buyer beware!

Not worth the cost
I'd hoped this would go nicely in my living room for cosy evenings and that given the price of it, it would be excellent quality. However, it feels cheap and flimsy, not fleecy at all, and doesn't get really warm even on the highest setting. So I asked for a return label, and then was told I would have to pay for the shipping less E3. Royal Mail quoted me £48 to send it back, so I checked with the seller and they quoted me £25, and I'd have to go out to the DHL depot to send it, which is a huge hassle. Also, DHL open your package and you have to re-pack it. By the time I'd gone to and fro on this and had been ill for a few days, the return deadline had passed, and anyway at that cost for a return, I decided I might as well keep it. This shift from free returns for Amazon goods from Europe is not the fault of the vendor, it's our own stupid fault because Brexit, but it's something we will now have to be very wary of when we buy.
