Your question got me thinking and I did test attaching a piece of scrap 1/4 to some pine and it did do it (you would only get about 5/16 of staple through a 1/4" of material. using the maximum 9/16 staples) **Q: Would this work as a carpet stapler? Stairways and corners?** A: I’m not sure, I’ve used it for insulation mostly.
