Be sure to cap this!! Had a massive algae bloom and alot of melting. 2nd go around did the dry start method with a sand capping and started the tank with fritz. Now I have to trim my plants every week in a low tech tank only using aquarium co-op fert!

Here is my 5 month review using this stuff. It holds up very well over time. I tend to plant and uproot often and this stuff takes a beating. Plants seem to love it. No Ammonia leach when first setting up. and it comes in a very eye pleasing dark brown color. I will be using this instead of ADA Amazonia for now on!

Great for any planted aquarium level. Doesn’t leach ammonia but still is nutrient rich enough for high light and c02 injected aquariums. Good grain size and weight for easily planting of roots. Black color is uniform and looks pleasing aesthetically.

I've used this soil on three other tanks. Very easy to plant into or crush to get a finer grain. Holds banks very well with lava rock base.Love it.

This soil powder is smaller than expected, which is good as it fills in all gaps for proper water plant growth.

Purchased this for my 60x30x30 cm Aquarium. Some people may have doubts that 9 lts is not sufficient, you can always go with bottom layer of Topica and top it up with river sand. The plants are thriving. One additonal thing I did was adding ADA bacteria which helped colonize healthy bacteria. The purchase is really worth the price and does great job.

I'm not sure what the one star review people are doing or thinking. Of course it can go cloudy / dirty when you're flooding the tank. It takes time to settle and a good filter goes a long way. I've used this on three tanks so far, and I'm finding myself trimming the plants constantly to keep up with them. I have excellent water quality and healthy fish. Who would have known that water to soil would make the water cloudy for a while!? Expensive but it's good, just keep an eye out for ammonia when first setting up, and make sure you keep up with your water changes.

Sehr guter bodengrund mit vielen Nährstoffen. Pflanzen bilden gut ihre Wurzeln und sehen gesund und munter aus. Durch den hohen eisengehalt ist das soil magnetisch was beim säubern des aquarium hilft wenn es auf steinen oder anderer deko ist sowie beim wasserwechsel da man es mit einem Magnet schnell sammeln kann.
