This is an interesting question.My understanding is it removes the residue of product build-up as a "clarifying" shampoo. To remove hard water mineral build-up in the hair, it would need to be a "chelating" shampoo. Chelating shampoos are specifically designed to prevent and remove mineral buildup in your hair. A chelating agent will chemically bind to minerals, removing them before you even have a chance to notice that they're there. Some shampoo companies throw around words like "clarifying," "chelating," and "neutralizing," so to be sure you're using the right product, look for one that has the ingredient EDTA. Do you use regular conditioner after shampooing with the clarifying shampoo?

This shampoo has been so incredible that I no longer use conditioner. My wavy think hair combs out easily without and is very silky.

My hair becomes oily by the end of the day. Would this help prevent acne, and my hair from becoming oily?

This is a clarifying shampoo. It is NOT recommended to use more than once a week as it can dry your hair and make it brittle. If you have oily hair, I recommend you wash your hair every other day ( meaning wash one day but not the next then wash again but not the next day and so on). If you read the instructions on the bottle, it also states that this is a cleansing shampoo and should be used less often than you would a regular every day shampoo.
