Perfect fit!
This replacement bin handle fit my 25 year old Dyson DC07 perfectly. The screw holes aligned just right. But note that it will take a bit of patience to reassemble all the parts, particularly the release rod that extends downward from the handle into the dust bin. Note that one side of the rod has a flat side, the rod must be aligned and inserted into the dust bin release mechanism inside the suction nozzle. I laid the dust bin on its side, and using a flashlight to see inside the tube, and my finger to guide the rod, I was able to get the rod into dust bin release mechanism. Now my old Dyson is as good as new.

Very Easy to Install - But Here are a Couple Tips
My order arrived very quickly. Unfortunately it had a broken rubber gasket (seal). I notified them and they replied within an hour that a replacement was on the way. A couple days later I received a new unit fully intact. The response time and customer service was outstanding. Easy to work with and quick to take action.Installation is easy but here are a few tips to make it even easier......First, check the screw heads in the top of the housing. I saw a video that said some units have 3 Phillips head screws holding the top on. Mine had three #15 Torx screws instead. If you see a screw head that looks like a star, that's a Torx head. It requires a special Torx tool to remove it.TIP: If you don't have a Torx bit tool you can buy one at most tool or hardware stores. Harbor Freight is probably cheapest, but Napa, Sears and others have them as well. I suggest you take your bin unit with you and check the Torx bit against the screw head. It's possible your Torx screw may be a different size.Second, don't forget to open the bottom of the waste bin before removing the old handle. If you forget to do that, it's not a problem, but lining up the rod to the clip that opens the bin is way more difficult, very time consuming, and frustrating.TIP: If you forget to open the bin simply remove the rod from the old housing. Before installing it on the new head thread it down the housing and slip it into the clip holder at the base of the bin and open the bin manually. It's a minor pain, but it's not a big deal.Third, the hole for the screw that holds the rod housing to the underside of the head on my unit was just a hair off. The holes didn't quite align but it wasn't a huge problem. It just took a little muscle to get the screw started.TIP: If you have an awl or small rod use that to line up the 2 holes. It can help save you time instead of pushing down hard on the screw head while turning it trying to get it to find the hole and start biting.Fourth, the release trigger for the bin bottom was a bit stiff and didn't move freely or release as easily as the OEM unit at first. No problem though. Just work the trigger a few times and add a very small amount of a light lubricant (sewing machine oil, maybe WD40) if you want. Mine now slides easily and works perfectly.

Make sure you inspect how the part is supposed to work before beginning your install
This replacement part fit my Dyson DC07 Animal vacuum perfectly. I had no problems with the fit at all. Installation was a bit of a chore and instructions would certainly be helpful. Knowing that others had had problems before from other reviews made my install much easier. This is certainly a great buy considering that Dyson does not sell just this top housing unit but only the complete cannister. For the convenience of others, here are my quick instructions for the install of this part:1. Release the trigger and empty your cannister. Leave the cannister open. I found it best to set the cannister on a box with the flap hanging down over the edge.2. Unscrew the bolts holding the top to the cannister. When you take off the top you will also be pulling out the stick that releases the flap. Use a flashlight and look into your cannister. You will see at the bottom the hole in which this stick rests. You will have to make sure the stick fits inside that hole when you reinstall or the flap will not open.3. Unscrew the bolt that holds the stick to the old top. Place the stick unit aside for now.4. Remove the trigger from your old top and place into the replacement part.5. There is an extension on the inner workings of the stick unit. Pull the stick taut so that the rubber gasket is extended and the extension fits into the notch that is located on the trigger end of the stick.6. Holding the stick taut so that it is extended, fit the stick unit into place on the underside of the cannister top and bolt into place. Test your trigger. When you pull on it the stick should extend. If it does not then unscrew everything and try again.7. Feed the stick into your cannister and line up the top. Turn the cannister upside down or sideways and using your other hand guide the stick into the hole that you saw in step 2.8. Once the stick is inside the hole you can refasten the bolts holding the top and you are done.Hope that helps, the entire replacement should probably only take about 10 - 15 minutes.

Awesome, DC07 working again!
Be sure to start with the canister open to get the canister release rod in first or you're gonna have a hard time. Other than that an easy installation. Very pleased to get my 20 year old workhorse back in business! Thank you!

Installation tip
I had to use the gasket from the original piece to fit the new piece. The gasket on the new piece is just too thick to fit right. Also, make ABSOLUTELY sure TO OPEN THE BOTTOM SO THAT YOU CAN FIT THE RELEASE ROD IN THE LATCH. If you forget, when you remove the release rod from the old piece (which you will use on the new piece) you can use it to release the bottom before you install it on the new piece. Have fun😀😀😀

NOT direct replacement / poor quality
Received the item with a broken gasket. Sent message to seller and received no response. Luckily I was able to use my original.Screw holes do not line up well but I did the best I could. The original has an additional trigger lock on the handle to prevent accidentally releasing the canister. THIS knock-off omitted that feature.Assembled canister does not fit as well and is now very difficult to remove.
