Pros: 1. Awesome screen which makes you look at it with Wow. It is similar to S9 and iPhone X screen and since its bigger it looks better than others. The viewing experience is as good as watching on TV. I used a One Plus 5 and 6 and Oppo before and those screens are nowhere to what i have seen on this one. This is real super amoled. 2. 8GB RAM, SD 845 and 128GB space. You can't get better specs at this price range. Beast of a phone. 3. Camera is awesome and few people who are complaining about more saturation and exposure of the phone lenses can actually use the pro mode to reduce exposure, saturation etc and make the camera work wonders and get the most out of the phone's camera. I used a One plus 5, 6 and iPhone 6 and Oppo F7. This phone's camera is at par with OP6 and better than others. 4. Battery and fast charging is really good since the phone's display is massive i thought it will barely last for a day but with moderate to heavy usage it is lasting for 1.5 days. 5. At this price point you can't compare it with iPhone X and S9 which are a lot costlier than this one. But still it is getting compared means this is surely a great phone. 6. All the brands OPPO, Vivo and One Plus are owned by BKK Electronics so you can be assured of quality here just like you get in One Plus phones. Cons written by others and answers to those complaints: 1. Fun Touch OS does take some time to get used to. Easiest thing i found was to drag my finger from top to get the global search box and find any setting, contact by typing there. 2. Upgrade to latest fun touch OS so that you can use the phone for video calls on WhatsApp, Skype, Viber etc. I used it for video calls and camera does pop up for the same. By the way if its not working check in notifcations area if you have allowed Skype/Whatsapp to access your phone's camera. If its disabled from there then how can it work? 3. Vivo does not have an active community just like One Plus where people constantly discuss issues and One Plus is all ears for them and gets the software upgrades accordingly. Vivo should definitely build up a community and an Instagram page where shots clicked on Vivo nex can be displayed for others to check. 4. Spilt screen is working on the latest Fun Touch OS where other users have complained about it. You can set it up from settings as well. 5. Ear piece sound right now with latest Fun Touch OS after every call it shows you where to keep you ears for getting optimal sound. I placed my ear at that place and had no troubles with listening to the other person at crowded market area as well. 6. At 200gms this is 11gms more heavier than Samsung S9 plus. Yes it is heaviest phone than the other flagships but when you use it daily you would get used to the weight. 7. Screen size is lengthy and hence you can't click photos with single hand however you can activate voice in selfie and by saying cheese it clicks your photos. 8. Encyption level and security. Vivo at settings and iManager does have a privacy section to set up encryption and password protect your apps and folders. You can also remove location tagging and less use apps and avoid giving them permissions and use incognito mode browser to have maximum security on your phone. Lastly avoid using location services too often to allow Android to snoop around you.

Final update on 20.10.22 After 5 years of use Really Vivo works a lot on this phone. 1. All major issues from releasing this phone to time resolved 2.Camera quality best even 1lk Samsung or Xiomi phone can't compare with picture quality despite less hardware 3.One more request to vivo team you still not added remote feature in this phone which mi has even 5k mi phone.Kindly add this all upcoming vivo phones Last thanks to vivo to release such a wonderful phone in Indian market Previous updated The phone is good ...battery ok...sound extremely good..no notch... camera also suitable... Let me give some drawbacks of the phone. 1. Hang problem...you cannot expect the latest processor, 8 GB ram mobile to hang frequently...I hope the company will rectify this issue in the next update. Please correct them hanging problem phone is now turning very often. 2. like xiomi phones, this phone cannot b used as a remote for tv or a fan...a 45k phone should not lack this feature. Overall a 4-star rating... In a recent update from Vivo 1. resolved hanging problem 60% 2.fingerprint sensor problem was also resolved One more thing needs to resolve 3. Selfie also looks good after a recent update. Beautiful work doing the Vivo team All app notifications are not coming properly Like Bhim app Tez no information. Coming at all Please resolve this next update. Kindly work on the hang problem and release a new update asap The phone is hanging very rapidly now after the Android 9 update. Especially the TELEGRAM app running, it is hanging more. I know an update is good for us, and we are always waiting for that Please release the next update asap to release the hang problem Recently Vivo gave another update which works good on battery performance..thanks. But the main problem lies in third-party apps, especially the TELEGRAM APP. When a notification comes, the phone gets fully charged. As many reports are coming single time phone is not working at all. I turn off the notification as it is hampering my daily work badly. Please release the next update and resolve this telegram app notification issue. VIVO gave the latest update on 16.07.2019. Now it is not hanging ...Telegram app is also working fine...no hanging like previously...I will update again after five days of use...I have been using this phone for almost a year.

There are certain moments that bring a smile and a sense of awe. Holding the phone the first time did that. This is a very well imagined and made phone. Right from the bezel less display with no notch to having the latest specs. Watching videos on the device is something. As is the breezy fast behaviour. Camera is good, comparable to any A grade phone though low light shooting does suffer noise. Very good battery backup and fast charging. Presence of earphone jack is a definite plus. A lot of industry firsts are incorporated. The negatives may be subjective. But the weight and length restricts one handed use. On screen fingerprint sensor is prone to error unless one is very precise. But the sheer coolness and innovation is worth the pain. The lack of ear piece, and having the whole screen for call is a bit disconcerting and at times a bit of distortion creeps in. The front camera pics are unnatural even with the beauty mode off. The OS is certainly not the best out there, but is good enough to handle all tasks. The flexibility and features that it gives is quite good. So overall it is a very good and daring take on the future of smartphones. Whether it will be adopted by others remains to be seen.

The last expensive phone that I had was the Samsung Galaxy Note 1. It was a phone that came with a lot of innovation. After which, I personally thought the phones that followed were just mere upgrades on processors, storage and ram. When they showed off the Vivo Apex concept phone, I honestly didn't think the tech would be available for some time but Vivo surprised all of us with the Nex. The phone was launched at a great price with even greater offers (4k instant discount on HDFC, 5k extra discount on exchange - got 8.5k for my 2 year old Redmi Note 3!, one time screen replacement, buyback guarantee and Jio offers). With all the tech in the phone and the offers it came with, it was a no brainer for me. The "almost fullview" display protected by Gorilla Glass 5 is a gorgeous FHD+ Super Amoled panel from Samsung and it is one immersive display! The blacks are truly black as expected out of an AMOLED display. Download the Amoled Wallpapers app from the Playstore for some really cool wallpapers. The size of the phone makes it a bit difficult for one handed usage. Getting a case with a ring helps out a lot when you're watching videos because the phone is a bit heavy. I'm not a fan of Fun Touch OS and so I installed Nova launcher right away. The bootloader is locked and Vivo apparently does not release their kernel source codes so we can't install custom roms which is a bummer. Snapdragon 845 and 8gb of ram takes care of any work load you're able to throw at it. The cameras are great but the heavy post processing that is done by the phone ruins a lot of photos especially the ones taken by the front camera. All your selfies will look too soft. The slow motion mode works beautifully in well lit environments but it's quite bad in low light. And 4k video capture is only available at 30fps. The pop-up front camera mechanism seems to be quite sturdy after watching multiple YouTubers abuse it. The ballet dancing video was quite convincing as well. The sound casting tech is amazing. Calls sound clearer than on a phone with a traditional ear piece. The loudspeaker is quite loud and has a bit of bass! Charging from 0 to 100% takes only about 1 hour and 40 minutes! The premium looking box came with a pretty decent headset that sits snug in your ears and a really good hard case with a rubber finish. The phone came pre-installed with a screen guard on the front and back which is a nice touch. Overall, it's an excellent phone and I'm so happy with my purchase!

Writing the review after 05 months of usage. Purchased this beauty back in Sep'18 and oh boy! Since that day I am in love with this. Being a flagship, the 8gb along with its SOC 845 does wonders when you play a game or run high end apps like photoshop etc. Camera is a beast, although this doesnt get a hardware for IS, the EIS does a pretty fantastic job. The photos come out great and gives a very vibrant and color corrected image when captured, both in day and night. The front elevation of the camera is the highlight and is complete head turner in public and the photo quality is awesome too. This beast comes in 8-128, which is a good combination and in these 5 months, i have never felt that the space is low or that the RAM is low. Pubg has a very smooth fps, nova runs like butter. Infact there is no hearing issue as well. It charges to 100% in just 1/2 hour via dual engine charge, gow effing cool is that!!!!! 10 mins of charge can give you a 40-50% charge on a dead battery.. digest that. It has a headphone jack too.. 😉 Comming to the downside, I am still to manage a major complaint on this, but there are small things which should improve.. the fingerprint scanner has more fail rates as complared to a dedicated scanner, this can be resolved by adding multiple scans of same fingerprint. Also, it lacks a face recognition, i mean its okay, but a flagship should have had it, next is slow updates, its been more than a year now and Vivo should strongly consider updating to 9.0 and up. Still waiting for an update.
