My only gripe is that since the syllabus change, Shining Brass doesn’t have pieces on all three of the lists for each exam. Sometimes it’s only list B and C etc. so you would need the pupil to buy a second book to take the exam. I guess it’s a way of ABRSM getting you to by the All Mix book (their newer one) instead.

I use this book a lot with my pupils and prefer the pieces to the ones in the Brass All Mix book. Bought for my daughter. Seemed like a no-brainer getting levels 1-3 in one book

Good book. Ideal for my child who has been playing for two years. The cd that comes with it is useful to hear how it should sound. It seems difficult at first, but perseverance definitely pays off.
