I used it because I had this exact color run problem and I found that the red came out of the white great but the color remover also made the red look more orange/rusty. There's a chance I left it in too long and maybe if I had pulled it out just a hair sooner the red would not have been changed too noticeably but I doubt it. Bottom line: it's powerful stuff! **Q: Can this be used on a polyester sham pillow case that turned blue?** A: It should as long as the fabric is colorfast **Q: Is this safe for spot treating lycra or spandex. The pink on my daughters baton costume bleed onto the white** A: I would follow the instructions for testing color fastness given on the side of the box. Pick a seam or an inside hem and test it. If the costume is washable AND if it is colorfast it should work. My guess, though, is that if the pink bled into the white, the costume is not color fast, and if you use the color remover, even if the color comes out of the white, the pink may change color. **Q: HOW many loads will this treat?** A: That depends on the size of the load and the water level you are using.
