Quality is outstanding, there is NO RUST on this stainless steel -- I live in muggy southwest Louisiana so I paid the $2-3 difference to make sure my beautiful knife didn't rust or discolor in any way. The color is exactly as pictured, which BTW is not bright enough to find in the grass or leaves so be careful where put it down and to put it back in it's holster. The plastic of that holster kinda bothers me but it's sturdy as hell and does the job it needs to; plus it allows different ways to attach to you, by design. Some may feel like the knife is too small for primitive living or hard work, and someone can look at it and say it reminds them of them of a kitchen knife, but it's everything you need. And far thicker than any kitchen or chef knife. My main purpose in buying was to baton and split wood and it's held up flawlessly to that and more. The only thing that could be better is a straight top spine, for scraping and setting fires. But I knew it was not a feature when I chose it. The last thing I'll say is I don't recommend sharpening it with a stone, of any kind, unless you are absolutely, totally sure you have the skills. And, I don't mean from watching YT videos. I tried it and despite being sure that I knew what I doing, I rounded off the edge and the factory edge is long gone. Now, I only use it for bathing because it doesn't cut well anymore. I actually had to buy a new one (and I chose the same model, that's how great it is). I only use a sharpening steel on it or slide very fine sandpaper along the edge. Besides, I don't want the reflection to become muddy from too many tiny scratches. For me, the point is to keep that factory, machine made edge, because that's the most important part. Not the literal point, BTW; I dull that part down because it's actually dangerous! I've never cut myself so many times with any knife, but that teaches you to respect that edge.
