From the manufacturer Made in Germany This JCB MIDI CX Backhoe Loader is made just like the real thing. The frontloading arm has a grip for steering and a locking mechanism in the upper position. The shovel has 2 positions for loading and unloading. The driver’s seat swivels to allow full operation of the backhoe. The backhoe has fold-down stabilizer legs, a loading arm that can excavate below ground level and is also detachable. The standard tractor coupling, which is included, can be mounted when the backhoe loading unit has been removed; this allows all trailers and farming equipment available to be used. True to Form The JCB Midi CX backhoe loader is small, agile and can be equipped with classic farming implements. It can be used on large and small construction sites and combines 3 tools in one: a mini digger, a compact wheel loader and a compact tractor. Review: Perfect for a digger fan - There are lots of these type of toys online but I persuaded my wife to get our child this one. It's gone done an absolute treat with our son playing with it pretty much non stop since Christmas. Although the back part comes off, (as it's designed to do) it's well made enough to require a bit of elbow grease to detach it, something I.m thankful our 3 year old can't do....yet. It really is a quality item and the difference in detail and quality over others we researched is easy to see. We also bought the loader for him to play loading dug items into and that is also well made. We will definitely be buying other Bruder toys when the time comes as the quality is great for the price.

**Q: How big are these toys?  1:16 scale doesn't tell me much as I am not an engineer.**
A: Katie,We have the Bruder backhoe loader & a bulldozer, both 1:16 scale. This is roughly the size of a jumbo box of tissues, plus some when the parts extend out. Just ballparking, as I can't go measure right now, I'd say the vehicle height is approx 10 inches; length approx 14 inches.Got them when our boy was about 2. Now he's 4. They are good, well-made toy s that don't break easily, unlike so many cheaper toys.

**Q: Can the 1:16 Bruder man fit into the seat?**
A: I'm not sure, I do not have the 1:16 Bruder man. I can take pictures of the seat area and send them to you if you like. My son still loves this toy by the way!

**Q: Our playground has woodchips instead of sand... How will it handle scooping woodchips?**
A: As long as the chips are not too big it will work fine, our 2 little construction workers aged 5 and 2 spend hours with their Bruder machines, usually digging in the dirt by the garden.
