Remember, folks: these are newly-manufactured reproductions of a toy that was first designed and sold in the 1950’s. It’s also a toy version of a weapon system (M42 Duster) that was in service from the mid-40’s to the mid-60’s. Toys from this era were designed to be durable and inexpensive. They didn’t move on their own, light up, or make noise. They are what they are. That said, these are quality versions. These are well-cast in sturdy plastic with sharp detail and little or no flash or sprue from the molding process. The wheels roll freely. The turret turns easily and the guns elevate. That said, the original design skimped on detail below the top edge of the hull. I will probably relocate the turrets to the chassis of a newly-made M48 Patton or similar knockoff (see picture) without feeling guilty about modifying or destroying a collectible toy from someone’s childhood.

This was a fantastic gift for my son that brought him lots of joy. He already has plenty of toy soldiers and just needed some vehicles to go with his growing collection. The vehicles are made with good attention to detail and moving parts which my son loves. All around great product for an affordable price.
