Can’t go wrong at this price! The new grips look great.
Lightning fast shipping. Beautiful knife for the price! The new mode has the better looking grips which is this model offered for sale. For the price it seems to be very well made and looks great as well. I was hesitant at first but the new stag look is perfect! Beautiful and functional knife at a great price point! I’m surprised it doesn’t go for more as of writing this. Highly recommended if you need a replacement knife or if you’re looking to add to your toolbox knives and or collection. It looks great the blades snap back into the knife with heft (as you would expect from high dollar knives). Overall I highly recommend it. Sharp also! You can’t go wrong at this price.

Really Nice knife
The uncle henry 885 in the "new" staglon (a nice looking plastic that imitates antler) is a really nice knife. It is the same size as the old timer 8OT, i.e., a fairly large knife (4" closed) that still fits fine in the pocket. Very good pull and snap, close to perfect fit and finish. The old USA made version has a slightly more ergonomic feel, due to the scales being rounded on the edges, but otherwise the modern China made 885 is the equal of the old USA version. Hard to believe I got this knife for $20-- it could easily have been twice that, given the quality. I do wish Uncle Henry offered a jigged bone or antler version with the mirror 9Cr19MoV steel like the saw cut old timer 8OTB, but I am actually pretty happy with the Staglon and the satin 7CR17 blades.

A good knife for the money
Made in China. That being said, the knife is well made . Good looks and feel are important, the knife is a good investment.

Highly Recommend.
Nice knife. Build is comperable to the pre-2004 US Schrade knives. Mine has a working edge on all the blades. I'll introduce it to the bottom of my coffee mug when it is empty. No visible gaps, no blade wiggle, I don't notice any blade rub when opening or closing any of the blades, one at a time. Excelent walk 'n talk. Blades have a pull between "5" and "6" out of the box. This may get a little lighter after I wash and lube the joints. Like the old pre-2004 "Made in USA" Schrade knives (Schrade went bankrupt and locked all the doors in 2004) this is a "working" knife; not a "collector's item" or a never intended to be used "safe queen". There may be minor flaws (as there are on the old US made knives) that I haven't noticed yet. There are no flaws that affect functionality. It should make for a nice EDC.

FIT & FINISH
THIS KNIFE IS VERY SHARP OUT OF THE BOX [CUT MY THUMB & INDEX FINGER RUNNING THEM ACROSS THE BLADES, IT ALSO CUTS PAPER. THE BLADES OPEN & CLOSE AS I WOULD EXPECT. FIT & FINISH IS VERY NICE. IT OUTDID MY EXPECTATIONS & I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO BUY ANOTHER ONE. I LOVE THIS EDC KNIFE & YOU CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE.

This is a $20 knife? No.
Not the quality I would expect for $20. More like less than $10. There are uneven angular grinds on all of the blade spines on the pivot end of the blades. I'm going to have to touch this mess up! It really bugs me, but not something I can't take care of with a file and some various metal sand papers. Still, you shouldn't have to finish the manufacturer's job for them! I also had to give it a good polishing because there was no sheen to anything. It was all dull looking like it had been sitting for years in a warehouse. The edges of the brass liners were very dull too, being on the verge of corrosion, but not quite. The brushed surfaces of the blades were super dull and not freshly manufactured looking. The bolsters were dull. The badge was dull. Not as shaving sharp as they used to be either! The Uncle Henry badge is also concave from stamping it too hard! Has everything gone downhill since COVID? Apparently so! All of the skilled craftsman must have gone on to other jobs and never come back. I also noticed this in the ukulele industry, as I do buy, tweak and re-sell them after I bring them up to snuff. Not that that has anything to do with knives, but in general, the quality of everything has gone down, and the price has gone up! Even the typically beautiful Rough Rider knives have gone downhill in quality, as I can see in the listings by simply looking at the pictures. This is basically why I decided to give Uncle Henry a try after years of not purchasing any. The pictures looked good, but the knife isn't so good! I guess I'll keep this, as this one was one was destined to be a daily user, mostly for whityling and package opening. I certainly wouldn't put it on display as with many of my pre-COVID Rough Riders! At least it's got one thing going for it... There is no Made in China stamp! Yay! For everyday work knife this would be fine, but it may need a little blade edge touchup if you're super fussy about razor sharp. This will cut the hair on your arm, but with a lot of drag. I wish I could recommend it at $20, but don't feel right about that. I would however, definitely recommend one for $10, maybe even $15, but that would be pushing the limits of pricing. To me, it's not worth the effort of returning it over the price, but I did expect much more. Another thing that bugs me is the box was crushed, that's probably the packager or carrier's fault. It seems they really like to kick and throw things around yet. Many a time, I've seen them simply sling things onto my doorstep! They shouldn't be allowed to do this when something is in a plastic bag! Some people, like me, like to keep the original packaging for resale at a later point. With a box, you can possibly get away with tossing it, or dropping it on a doorstep, but it better be well packed inside! I've gotten so many damaged manufacturer boxes lately that it's ridiculous! These people need to be better trained!
