Lake Placid Nitro Girl's Adjustable Figure Ice Skate

The Lake Placid Nitro Girl's Adj. Skates are decent for the $$ but certainly could be a little more comfortable. They are a little too "plasticky", however this is why they are inexpensive. Putting them on is easy, size adjustment is a snap, and I like that the closures "hide" within the skate, rather than hanging outside. It is easy to over-tighten the buckles, which can cause the feet to ache. I am not sure if these skates can be 'broken-in".Not only do kids feet grow quickly but not being sure that the child will enjoy skating, it is good to have this type of option. Once the child learns to skate, certainly the skates should be upgraded. I just wish that the footbed had better quality padding and more cushion. Yes, they do beat out rental skates, the big factor being that rental skates are germy, hurt no matter what you do, and usually very worn out. At least these are your own!

Hard to decide on a rating for this one as the origianl pair I received were defective. One of the skates would not stay locked in so they could not be adjusted. I did do an exchange and am waiting on the replacement pair but it was very simple to do - they even scheduled a UPS pick up at my house. My daughter did love them so hoping the next pair will work and then are just not poor quality.

The Skates Came very fast especially for being the Christmas season. They work perfectly for my 11 year old daughter. They are easy to get on and easy to get off and to tighten which is the most important thing and they give great support.

My daughter wore them a couple of times to skating lessons and couldn't stay up on them...we first passed it off as her being new to the ice. The instructor told us it was because the adjustable skates--when they are set to the smaller size there is "too much blade" in the back and it threw off her balance. They would probably work better when set to the larger size. I wouldn't recommend these for the smaller size settings and for inexperienced skaters.

I bought the Nitro girl's shoe for my 5 year old girl. The people at the skating class were saying that these look like Hockey shoes. My daughter had been using them for the last couple of weeks and her skating has improved a lot. She was telling her friend that the skates go faster if she stands up. She loves the skates.The company at first shipped me a boys version of the shoes. So I returned the shoes and asked them for a change of shoes. The only issue I had with them is that the lack of proper communication. They had already shipped me the correct shoe, but did not communicate to me. Other than that I love the shoes and would buy from them again.

Already had to start at a high setting for a 6-7 year old so wont last much longer. Therefore good for a first skate at a smaller size for 5 yo

it fits perfectly to my feet. i wear shoes size 5-6. i dont give 5 starts just because the material is too stiff and easy too break (all plastic) and not enough cushion inside the skate.

My daughter has been very excited about her new skates! The insides seem to come out pretty easily, but she hasn't complained about it - she says all the cushion helps her to not get blisters.

I'm in love with them! I was afraid that they wouldn't fit me being a Size 6 adult or they would be uncomfortable but they're way more comfortable than the rentals and they already came adjusted to Size 6 with room for thick socks! Can't wait to actually use them! A plus is that they come with the blade guards.

Havent used yet but looks great. So as of now ill give 2 star for looks, the quality when tested will be a perfect addiotional 3 to make 5 if my daughter approves of it. The delivery by the way is quick.

Perfect for figure skating lessons as have pics on the front. My daughter had these from level one-10 then bronze silver and gold freestyle skating worth every penny, very comfortable too
