We've always LOVED M&D products in our household, and this is no different. The pieces are thick & sturdy, with a glossy finish. All of the pieces fit together perfectly - no imperfections. Just enough of a challenge for moving up from 24-45 piece puzzles, but still bigger, chunkier pieces that aren't too hard to place. My son loves the images, too. Very detailed, with a large number of animals, and an impressive 4 ft wide finished piece. This was a GREAT value, as well, especially with M&D quality. Definitely a hit!

This is another wonderful floor puzzle by Melissa & Doug. We have purchased many of them to have on hand for Christmas and birthdays for little ones 3 years to 7 years. May I please suggest that you consider labeling each creature pictured in the puzzle (like was done in the solar system floor puzzle)? It helps the child associate printed letters with the animal. And by doing so adults could help their child learn the proper name for each marine animal or safari animal, etc. We adults frequently may not know the name of a species. It would be so helpful to include this info with each puzzle. It just adds to the puzzle experience. It makes for a great learning tool for us (adults) as well. If labels can't be done on the puzzle, include a diagram in the box with an identification key to each insect, fish or whatever the subject matter of the puzzle. Thank you. This puzzle is large and fun for my 5 year old to put together on his own. The pieces are sturdy and well made. The picture quality is good and the artwork is lovely. It's really everything I could want in a puzzle. If you're wondering how these hold up, my friend is currently using one that I handed down to her 12 years ago from an older child. Still in good shape.

Boys liked it.

A diverting entertainment for any child who shows interest in wild animals. My grandson of seven years sprawled across the floor to complete it, identify the animals and talk about their envionment.

A long African Savanna. I ordered the puzzle for my PBL (project based learning) session on Animal conservation titled "The Sinking Ark". The clarity of the pictures, beautifully illustrated and simply the length is excellent. Also despite the size, the puzzle are just enough challenging to keep the students engaged. 5 stars, hands down!

I bought this a few years ago for my kids, they still love putting it together! Very good quality floor puzzle.
