Just a stand alone, ready to go tool. Its not going to replace something like VCDS, but its good for most things. I uses it multiple times to get DPF info, along with other non generic OBD2 info. No freeze frame data as far as I know, which is a bummer, but for most things thats fine. It also works as a generic OBD2 reader. I was able to read codes and live data from a Duramax, which surprised me it would even have the info to tell me what the codes mean and what the data is. Would buy again, and have recommended it to others.
