Does the job but has minor issues.
Being an avid Hammock camper this was something that I just had to give a try to. The price made it affordable and taking a chance on it wouldn't be costly if I did not like it. But, after using it I find that it does have a place in my camping adventures. It is very light weight and does the job of blocking the wind as well as containing the heat within quite well. Getting into the sock is easy. You just lift the bottom and rotate it up to the side of the hammock. Then just enter the hammock as you generally would. Then just rotate it around until it is in position. Pull the draw string below to close up the bottom. Now, all is not perfect and when closing that bottom causes the sock to self rotate bringing the vent around with one under the hammock. No cross venting can occur. It's a balance thing. So with that in mind I leave the bottom open a little. Fortunately I have an underquilt to protect from insect bites through the hammock. The build quality is marginal at best. While it is made well enough to work properly it has been sewn as if an amature did some of the work. Around the vents the work is terrible and there are a few other locations with issues. They are scattered around the sock but none of them cause the sock to not do the job intended. My hammock has a built in bug net but I also have hammocks without the bug netting. If used with a hammock without netting I found that the sides of the sock hang down on ones face. It can be uncomfortable. Generally, I will say that the design is fairly well done though. But do keep in mind that it is a budget item and the workmanship matchs its price. Lastly, I ordered it in early April in order to use it at an event in late May. The thing did not arrive until early June. Way too long to wait for something like this. It has nothing to do with the product but it does upset the customer. Bottom line, It is worth the price and does do the job that i want it to do. Yes, I would purchase again.

Perfect
Very small and lightweight so great for hammock camping. Works perfectly in high winds. Definitely keeps the drafts out.

Game changer for windy cold night
I asked myself; what elce could I possibly need for my hammock setup. Thought I had it all..that I could ever need for hammocking. Untill I saw a Blackie Thomas YouTube video. If you are a hammock camper you (Know) what a angry Storm can do too your camping enjoyment. Don't second wonder if you need this piece of gear or not. You will still need a good tarp too keep the driving squall rain out..however that swirling cold rain will never again ruin your day/night by spraying the inside of your cocoon world.

Nice addition to any hammock setup.
A nice cover for the hammock and underquilt. Blocked the wind as advertised. Was sleeping foggy conditions with temp. of 33 degrees and never noticed any condensation on the walls though the ouside of the tarp was dripping wet. Would gladly buy again.

Not bad. Not great.
It's easy to setup and definitely blocks wind. I tossed it over my hammock in the yard to test it. It's middle of the winter, and the hammock felt noticeably warmer with just it. By no means a replacement for anything, but is a great addition. Now with the bad. Durability is questionable with such a lightweight material, but the test of time will see. Worst aspect is absolutely the stuff bag it comes with sewn on. It is too small, and the stitching is questionable at best on it. You have to pack it in tight. That bag will absolutely tear in no time. I heard the telltale sound of threads snapping while pushing it in. Bumped rating from 3 to 4 stars after initial review. An addition after using it for a couple nights: It holds up fair better than anticipated. I left it as the standalone cover from the snowfall, and it worked well and held its own in some strong wind.

Great product
It is pretty good there are a couple of things that I would change is make an accessible access on the side instead of the bottom and make the vent holes a little smaller but other than that it works pretty good.

Helps keep you warm
I was very glad to have this sock when the temperature was much lower than predicted. With an under quilt and sleeping bag, this sock helped us sleep warm even as it snowed on our camp.

while inspecting the wind sock prior to first use I notice a bit of de-stitching at the top of the sock easy fix with needle and nylon thread

Definitely worth getting. You’ll notice the difference immediately when you put one over your underquilt. In summer it’s great on its own (no underquilt) keeps the chill off for sure without over heating.

I use this to go hammock camping in -20° weather. I also had a tarp up over it combined with a -30° sleeping bag and a under quiltI found it mostly comfortable little awkward to get into I did however have a cold spot on my lower back. I do believe this is because I did not cinch up the bottom opening. I also found that it did not have a huge amount of condensation built up on the inside. overall, I will be happy using this again.
